Participatory Research in Action

Independent Self Reflection

This short 2–3 page (not including references) reflection paper is designed to capture your reflections and lessons learned from the
course. It will focus on what you learned about participatory research from your own group project as well as by participating in
others’ research projects. It will identify how the principles of participatory research were and were not applied in your experiences in
the research project and how they may have been better achieved. Rather than a comprehensive reflection on all the research projects,
you are encouraged to reflect upon the ones that most affected you or stand out to you as formative. In addition to references to
scholarly literature from our course, you are asked to cite your own fieldnotes that documented your experiences and reflections
throughout the participatory research in action projects.
