6.0 REQUIREMENTS
6.1 The Electrical Project Lead will initiate and monitor the development of the electrical
data sheets with the applicable project requirements.
The overall work process for electrical data sheet development is shown in the Activity Based
Estimate Flow Diagram (000.265.8823).
Enforces that the electrical data sheets are based on all relevant project technical
documents, including specifications, single line diagrams, calculations, and studies; data
sheets serve as a firm basis for procurement.
Enforces the completion of necessary calculations in order to arrive at the data to be used
to fill in the data sheets.
Determines phased engineering requirements to develop preliminary electrical data sheets.
Assigns an Electrical Engineer to complete the data sheets in accordance with this practice.
Note: During the early phases of a project, it may be necessary to create alternative
documents to data sheets; such documents as equipment lists can be populated with
additional technical information with the purpose of aiding procurement activities.
6.2 The Electrical Project Lead will drive electrical data sheet development towards the
lowest Total Installed Cost (TIC) and safety in design consistent with the project Class
of Facility Quality (CFQ), the Contract, and the Scope of Work.
Requirements for implementing Cost Competitive Engineering and Design Activities are
described in Practice 000.200.1400.
Documentation that supports cost competitive design changes (such as Technical Deviation
Notices (TDN), Design Decision Records (DDR), or Variances) is prepared, issued, and
documented in accordance with the project procedures.

Requirements for the development of a project specific Class of Facility Quality are described
in Practice 000.100.1600.
6.3 The Electrical Project Lead will determine the type of application as related to the
creation of the data sheets.
This includes determining the following for each data sheet required for the project:
If the electrical data sheet is based on a Fluor standard data sheet template.
If the electrical data sheet is based on a Client data sheet template.
If the electrical data sheet is based on an industry standard template.
6.3.1 Electrical Engineer will obtain agreed upon templates and additional formatting
information that the data sheets must comply with for project wide use.
6.4 The Electrical Engineer will identify data available in relevant project specifications and
incorporate applicable data in the data sheets.
6.5 The Electrical Engineer will prepare and issue data sheets as per project requirements.
This includes the following activities:

DEFINITIONS
The following terms and acronyms apply to this practice.
Title Description
Electrical Engineer Provides support to the Electrical Project Lead in producing the electrical
design specification as defined in this document.
Electrical Project Lead Electrical Project Lead has the overall responsibility for creating the design
specification. Electrical Project Lead provides overall guidance and support to
the development of the electrical design specification. It serves as the liaison
between project and engineering management and the discipline task force.
Issued for Construction (IFC) An Issued for Construction (IFC) is drawings and documents which are
categorized as the review, and Issued for construction.
Issued for Design (IFD) An Issued for Design (IFD) means that drawings or documents are issued for
further development of design or used for other disciplines’ design.
Request for Quotation (RFQ) Request for Quotation - A collection of documents (i.e., RFQ package) used
to obtain pricing, delivery, commercial terms, and technical information from
approved bidders for the supply of goods. Includes instructions to bidders,
BOM, draft PO master document, and technical drawings / specifications.
