Lesson: One-to-One Correspondence Activity with Fish Bones and Q-Tips

Approach to the Lesson:

● Begin by gathering the children in a circle and showing them a picture of a fish. Explain
that today, they will be creating their own fish bones using Q-tips and straws. Introduce
the concept of counting and matching numbers to the correct quantity. Use an engaging
story about fish and their bones to capture their attention.

Steps;

● Specific objectives to be achieved:

1. Recognize and identify numbers 1 to 10.


2. Demonstrate one-to-one correspondence by placing Q-tips.
3. Develop fine motor coordination.
4. Increase attention span through engaging activity.
5. Encourage social interaction and cooperative learning.

- Counting from 1 to 10.


- One-to-one correspondence: matching one object to one number.
- Fine motor skills: manipulating small objects like Q-tips.

How the Activity is Made:

● Draw the head and tail of the fish on a piece of paper.


● Draw a straight line connecting the head and tail to represent the body of the fish.
● Cut straws into small pieces and paste them vertically along the line to illustrate the fish
bones.
● Present a number above the fish bone.
● The child identifies the number and counts the corresponding number of Q-tips.
● The child then places each Q-tip through the straws, counting as they go.
