SIMPLE PAST
CONCEITO
O Simple Past é um tempo verbal usado para indicar ações completas no passado.
Assim como no Simple Present, no Simple Past também estudamos o verbo To Be separadamente dos Outros
Verbos.
- O verbo To Be;
VERB TO BE
Exemplos:
- I was sick last night. (Eu estava doente noite passada.)
- I was short when I was a kid. (Eu era baixo quando era criança.)
- They were tired after the game. (Eles estavam cansados depois do jogo.)
- They were friends in the past. (Eles eram amigos no passado.)
- It was a different day. (Foi um dia diferente.)
- You were my friends. (Vocês eram meus amigos.)
- You weren’t at my party. (Você não estava na minha festa.)
- She was a great friend of mine. (Ela era uma grande amiga minha).
- She wasn’t my neighbor. (ela não era minha vizinha).

O Past Simple do verbo To Be em inglês tem duas formas: WAS e WERE

A forma negativa do Passado Simples do verbo To Be pode ser feita acrescentando not após o verbo (was or
were).

TO BE – INTERROGATIVE (?)
Para criar perguntas com o verbo To Be no Passado Simple segue-se a mesmo padrão do Presente Simples, isto é,
coloa-se o Verbo antes do Sujeito.
Assim como no presente, o passado também apresenta duas formas. Veja abaixo:

- There was a storm last night. (Teve uma tempestade noite passada.)

Inspired by Miami’s proximity to the ocean, Christina visited the Miami Seaquarium to learn about marine life. There,
