Task 1: Computers are considered a necessity in today’s time.

What disadvantages will people experience if they cannot use computers?

What should our government do to address this growing need?

Nowadays, computers play a vital role in our life. Also the invention of Internet bring us
many benefits. Without computers, people will face numerous difficulties in social and
professional settings.
It is extremely inconvenient if we cannot use computers at home or at work. Without a
computer, we will spend more money and time doing our everyday tasks. For instance, I
usually read news and comic online for free. If I don’t have computer or I don’t have
Internet access, I would need to buy newspapers and comic books that cost me a lot of
time going to bookstore because I live in rural area. On top of that, people working in
corporation cannot send or receive email message without computers, so their life will be
affected by its absence.
There are abundant of viable solution for authority to solve the social growing demand
for utilizing computers. First, the expense of using data should be minimize so the low-
income employees can easily access.
In summary, we cannot deny that modern people use the computer very useful, so the
government, have to teach the right way to use the computer to the young.
Task 2: Some people think that the computers and the Internet are important tools for
children’s studies, but others think that students can learn more effectively in schools
with teachers. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

In this modern day, Internet has been playing a vital role in our lives. As a consequence,
society now has a choice between computer-based education and traditional classroom
education. Personally, I think that we need innovation in education, on the contrary
computers cannot replace teachers and schools.
On the one hand, online classes and platform provide adequate knowledge to students.
With computers, studying has become easier to them. Through Internet, pupils can easily
find materials for their assignments from social networks or forums. For instance, I
usually dig on the Internet for my project about history or chemicals physics. There are
numerous websites and programs that you can learn a unlimited sources of knowledge
which could help boosting productivity towards learning.
On the other hand, face-to-face learning is still critical because of its effectiveness.
Through classroom discussions, we can learn from our classmates and teachers. For
example, talking about a specific topic with my lecturer help me thorough understand
about it. Moreover, this kind of education help students focus on their lessons which
usually missing if leaning online, tutor can supply information more impressively and
they can notice reaction of the pupils. Because of our school curriculum, the learning
process also become systematic and well organized.
Even though it is innovative, computer-based education has many limitations First
computers cannot discipline and inspire us. In a number of way, teachers are also like our
second parents, whereas computers cannot. On top of that, there are no regulations on the
Internet like our schools, so the younger are easily attracted by social networks. For these
reasons, we cannot fully depend on computers for our education.
In conclusion, we should combine these two way of learning together, so that students
can learning more effectively. Still, I firmly believe scholar are necessary.
Task 3: Some people say that computers can translate languages, so children need not
study foreign languages anymore. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Computers bring us a lot of language translator programs. Therefore, it is argued that

foreign language no need to be included in school because computer can translate them at
a fast speed and with high accuracy. I believe this statement is wrong. In this essay I will
discuss the reasons behind my opinion.
First of all, computer translation cannot exactly express one’s meaning to the fullest
extent. Computers often translate words incorrectly because they cannot understand the
context of the words. As we know, worlds carry many several meanings, and the meaning
of certain word can change according to context. Like the phrase “make up”, it has more
than ten meanings, but the translator platform can explain no more than two or three of
them. Hence, it is difficult to rely on a computer for precise translating.
Second, human cannot always depend on computers to study a foreign language. When
learning new dialect, you need to socialize with other people to improve skills and
understand thoroughly the culture. A machine never replace us in communication
because we are smart, creative and unique while a computer is just a human product.
Moreover, a language has numerous idioms and slang which complex for computer to
translate. Thus, translator programs sometimes sound awkward and robotic.
In general, computer translation can be beneficial, but we should not be too dependent on
them because our languages contain a lot of idioms and slang. I firmly believe learning
new language from teachers or native speakers are still the best way.
