Exercise 1. 4 charges q = +3µC are located at the four corners of a square, with a diagonal d of 8 cm.
Find the intensity and direction of the force acting on a charge Q = +15µC located at a height of 3 cm
above the center of the square. Hint: Observe the charge symmetry. .

Exercise n. 3 C1 is a parallel plate capacitor with area A = 4 cm2 and
electrode separation d = 10µm. 2/3 of d is filled with a dielectric with
K = 6 ( K ≡ εr ). The remaining 1/3 of d is in vacuum. Before closing
the switch T the capacitor C2 = 1.5 nF has a charge Q2 = 20 nC while
C1 has not any initial charge. Calculate :
1) The charges on C1 and C2 a long time after the switch has been
closed.
2) The total energy ΔE dissipated by the resistance R.

Exercise n. 4 The circuit shown in the figure consists of a coil of 50 turns

and area A of 500 cm2.
It is in a magnetic field with intensity Bi = 5 x 10-3 T, pointing orthogonally
inside the paper (see figure). The field intensity is linearly varied from Bi to
an intensity Bf = 1 x 10-3 T in a time t*= 10 ms. The orientation of the field
remains the same. The ends of the coil are connected and each turn
of the coil has a resistance of R1 = 0.3 ohms.
1) Compute the induced average current during t*.
2) Which is the minimum energy ΔE required to change the magnetic field from Bi to Bf?
