The company hired a full-time project manager to assist them in achieving their strategic objectives. The Project Manager will be supported on an ad hoc basis by employees from the company, mainly from the Marketing and Facilities Department. Other employees will be made available as the need arises. The Project Manager will report directly to the head office Marketing Manager and must approach the Finance Manager with any funding issue. In addition to financial and human resources support, the Project Manager has the allowance to utilise the company’s relevant process assets as the company had executed a similar exercise. The company is running several concurrent projects; most of which share a staff resource pool. The Project Manager received a message that the resource pool members will be unable to perform as planned for the next months because the overall workload has grown too high and is impacting their core operational duties and, in some cases, their health. While delays are adding up, the morale of the staff is going down. Answer the following questions: 1. What project management challenges do you foresee in this case? [5mks] 2. Identify the key stakeholders in the scenario and briefly describe their roles and responsibilities [5mks] 3. Describe how operations differ from a project. [5 marks]
4. What would you recommend to ensure this project is successful? [ 5 marks]
5. Explain the concept of “triple constraint” and its importance in a successful project [5mks]
