3. Pre Start-up Check/Inspection
*Check that crane or hoist is not tagged with an out-of-order sign.
*Check that all motion do not have excessive drift and that stopping
distances are normal.
*Check hooks for damage, cracks, deformation of throat opening, wear
on saddle or load bearing point and twist.
*If a hook latch is required, check for proper operation.
*Check wire rope for broken wires, broken strand, kinks and
deformation of wire rope structure.
*Check for limit switches
*Check for any sign of oil leakage
*Check for unusual sound before lifting a load.
4. Normal Overhead Crane Operation
During operation, operator must secure that the load to be
lifted will not exceed the rated crane capacity. The hook must always be
in the center of gravity for balance lifting and move the load by pressing
keys in the remote control, up, down, north, south, left and right
depending upon the travel direction.
When moving a load, the operator must make sure of all of
the following:
*The hoisting rope or chain is free of kinks or twist and not
wrapped around the load.
*The load is attach to the load block hook by means of a sling
*The sling and load will clear all obstacles.
*The load is balanced
*The hook is brought over the load to prevent swinging
*There is no sudden acceleration or deceleration of the moving
load.
