In the name of the
Father, and the Son, and
the Holy Spirit, one God.
Amen.
Begin with the Lord’s prayer
Our Lord and Savior, our King and God,
we thank you for gathering us here to stand
before you to call on your Holy Name.
Heavenly Father, teach us to trust You in
everything we do.
Our God open our eyes, ears, hearts and
minds to Your Word today.
Bless all the children and keep them safe.
Hear us when we humbly and thankfully pray
to you.
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from the evil one
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the
Glory. Forever, Amen.
O our Lady, as St. Gabriel greeted you, “Hail
Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” True
Virgin in conscience as well as body, blessed
are you among women and blessed is the fruit of
your womb.
Holy Mary, the God-bearer, pray that your
beloved Son, Jesus Christ, may forgive us our
sins. Amen.
Say The Jesus Prayer 3 times
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
have mercy on me, a sinner.

Objective

God leads us and chooses what is good for

us.
Abraham was the father of Isaac and he was getting very old.
So, he wanted to find a beautiful wife for his son Isaac.
Abraham wanted to choose the perfect wife for his son and so
he asked his favorite servant Eleazar to go and find a wife for
Isaac.
The wife that he chooses had to be
very special, because she had to love
God as much as Isaac and his father
did. She also had to obey God’s
commandments. He also wanted to
make sure that Isaac’s wife should be
from his own people who know God.
Abraham told him to go and find one of
their relatives from a far…far away land.
The servant was worried, how could he
ask someone to travel this far to be
Isaac’s wife? Maybe she would be scared
to leave her family.
And the servant also asked Abraham:
What if she does not want to come with
me here should I take your son Isaac to
see her there.
Abraham said: Do not take my son back.
Abraham did not want his son Isaac to go
back because God, long time ago, told him
to leave his home, his family and his land
and to go to another land. And Abraham
was very obedient to God so he did not
want his son to go back.
Abraham told him not to worry
because God would take care of
everything. God will send his angel
to guide you to choose a wife that
will agree to come with you.
So, Abraham’s servant took ten camels with him and
many presents to give to the family of the new bride of
Isaac when he finds her.
After traveling for a long time he became very thirsty and he decided that he would let
the camels rest. He was waiting for somebody to offer him some water. He also prayed
to God that He might guide him to the good wife for Isaac. He asked God that the
woman who will give him water to drink and will also give his camels would be the one
that God chose for Isaac.
Just after he finished praying, a beautiful young women named
Rebekah came out with a jar (pitcher) to get water.
As she was getting water, the servant ran to her and
asked if she could give him water to drink.
She kindly gave him a drink.
She offered some water to the camels because she
could see that they were thirsty, isn’t she so nice?
The helper was so excited that God
took care of him and answered his
prayer. The servants then knew that this
is the wife for Isaac because she did
just what he asked God that she would
do. He was so happy he prayed and
thanked God for showing him this girl.
The servants was very happy that he found a wife for Isaac so
he took a gold nose ring and two bracelets and gave her as a
present. He asked Rebekah about her family. The servant could
not believe how God had provided.
It turned out that her father was a relative of Abraham.
Rebekah was excited. She ran back to her family and
told them the news.
Quickly they ran to the well to meet the servant. They brought him back to
their home and gave him food to eat and a place to stay. The servant
introduced himself to her father Bethuel and her brother Laban.
Rebekah’s father and brother asked the servant what he wanted. He shared
that Abraham was looking for a wife for his son, Isaac. He shared how God
had helped him find Rebekah and his joy in learning that she was a relative
of Abraham’s family.
When Rebekah’s father heard all that God had done, he told Abraham’s
servant that certainly God had arranged this meeting. Abraham’s servant
bowed down and gave Rebekah’s family gold and silver jewelry, clothing,
and many expensive gifts.
Then, they asked Rebekah if she would like to go with the servant to be
Isaac’s wife and she said: “I will go”.
The next morning Rebecca leaves with the servant.
She went on to meet her husband Isaac.
Isaac was out in the field when he saw camels coming. Rebekah also looked
up and saw Isaac. She asked the servant about him and found out that it was
Isaac, whom she would marry. As he approached, she put a veil over her
face as was the custom in that time.
When Isaac met her he also knew that God had chosen the perfect wife for
him, because she was so nice and good and she loved God very much.
Isaac married Rebekah and loved her.
Conclusion
-We have to pray before we do anything.

-We have to pray when we need help from God. He can

guide us to the right thing to do.

-We can see how God answers prayers and is faithful to

help us in our time of need.

-We can also see how God gives the best to us when we
let Him help us.
