the clutch kit for my vehicle. I have a mk4 1.8t thinking
about upgrading a couple of things and need to know
what is the best clutch that I can get. My goal pound of
boost 14lbs - speed looking to get 200-250. Thx in

250 kph? And what does speed have to do with how
good a clutch holds up to tq?

I was told by a friend that ( if speed you are going for the
clutch has to be well made to handle the power) so the
reason for the post. And I'm new to all this upgrade stuff!
Help is needed on this project

what does the car have on it now? What HP/TQ goals do
you have for the future?

Just get a VR6 clutch. Stage 1 Sachs is basically the
same thing. That'll be more than enough, they're
relatively cheap, and reliable.

It's not speed that destroys clutches, it's torque.

Will second the OEM VR6 clutch and single mass
flywheel...haven't done it myself but will soon, Bora Parts
said this is the most popular setup on Mk4s and lots of
people love them. 14 lb. SMF is the best for 1.8Ts, 20.5 is
good for TDIs

Thanx for information so Sachs is what I'm going with.
Now I'll take any ideas on an intake?

just slap a cone filter from auto zone to your MAF or keep
it stock (smoothest) but put in a k&n filter on it.

you wont see much of a difference on a CAI vs short ram.

best route is making your own intake.
