CAREER OBJECTIVE
A summary statement is a brief paragraph or a set of bullet points that summarizes your
professional qualifications. It can do this by showing evidence of your skills, achievements,
and experience.
Focus only on your most relevant skills and experience. Incorporate keywords from the job
description whenever possible.
Avoid using personal pronouns (I, me, or my).
Integrate keywords and qualifications aligned with the company's specific needs. You
should include the most relevant, impressive information.
WORK EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
It’s important to highlight your specific accomplishments in prior roles. For example, if you
increased sales, reduced costs, or implemented new processes or technologies, be sure to
mention these accomplishments. Instead of saying, “Managed a team of 12 people.” You could
say, “Managed a team of 12 people, consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly targets.”
Boldfacing growth percentages, dollar figures, and other key accomplishments is also a good
strategy.
Start your bullet points with a powerful action verb like "managed".
Bullet points ensure that your key achievements will be seen. Keep it short and concise
Verbs make your resume more interesting to read. They also show the kind of can-do
attitude that employers are looking for.
Make this information easy to find by listing each job in reverse-chronological order (latest job
first).
