ACT 1:

Scene 1:

CIKA has just returned from work with a weary face and sits directly at the dining table. AINI,
after cooking, sets the food on the dining table and sees CIKA’s weary face. AINI looks worried
about CIKA.

AINI: (Aini sits beside Cika, looking worried) What’s wrong, Cika? Why do you look so tired
after work?

CIKA: (Cika shows a sad and guilty face) I’m sorry, Mom, the bakery went bankrupt.

So I got fired.

AINI: (Aini holds Cika’s hand) It’s okay, Cika. It’s not your fault, you don’t need to apologize.
Let’s have dinner first.

CIKA: If I don’t work, where will we get money from, Mom?

AINI: It’s alright, let’s have dinner first. Then you can rest. You’ll find a new job eventually.

Cika and Aini have dinner together.

ACT 2:

Scene 1:

AINI and CIKA are sitting in front of BELA’s house. Today, AINI wants to ask BELA for help
in finding a job for CIKA. BELA gives AINI a cup of drink.

BELA: From what I heard, Mrs. Jihan is looking for someone to take care of her child.

AINI: Her child? Do you mean Albert?

CIKA: Who is Albert? I’ve never heard that name before.

AINI: Mrs. Jihan’s family is very private and Albert is her only son and heir.

BELA: Because of that, the salary won’t be small and this is an opportunity for you, Cika.

CIKA: Alright. I’ll send a job application to Mrs. Jihan tomorrow.

Scene 2:

At night, JESSI and HELEN visit CIKA’s house. CIKA, HELEN, and JESSI chat together in
front of CIKA’s house.

CIKA: Because the bakery went bankrupt, I’ve stopped working for now.

JESSI & HELEN: (nodding, listening to Cika’s story while eating a snack)

JESSI: How about we go for a walk? It’s been a long time since we’ve done that together.

HELEN: That’s a good idea, I’ve been wanting to go to the beach. I’ve already picked out a
beach we can visit.

CIKA: I don’t think I can in the near future, I’m going to apply for a job at Mrs. Jihan’s house.

JESSI & HELEN: (surprised, looking at CIKA)

JESSI: Are you serious? You’re going to work for a wealthy family like them?

HELEN: What kind of job will you have there, Cika? It must be a difficult one.

CIKA: As far as I know, the job is to take care of someone. I’m not sure who though.

JESSI & HELEN: (just stay silent and look at each other)

ACT 3:

Scene 1:

CIKA is nervous and trying to look neat while waiting for JIHAN. JIHAN enters the room and
sits in front of Cika.

JIHAN: Alright, I’m going to ask you a few questions before I accept you to work in my house.

CIKA: (still nervous)

JIHAN: Can you patiently take care of someone? And can you memorize several different types
of medication in large quantities?

CIKA: With my experience serving various customers, I can easily memorize things quickly.

JIHAN: (stands up from her seat) Alright, follow me.

CIKA: (stands up and follows JIHAN)

Scene 2:

CIKA and JIHAN arrive in a room where ALBERT and JUAN are. CIKA is surprised to see
ALBERT in a wheelchair and paralyzed.

JIHAN: So this is my son, his name is Albert. You will take care of Albert.
ALBERT: (just looks at CIKA with a sullen face)

JUAN: Hello, I’m Juan and I’m Albert’s personal doctor. Nice to meet you, and what is your
name?

CIKA: Nice to meet you too, Juan, Albert. My name is Cika.

JIHAN: Alright. Congratulations, Cika, you’re accepted to work here and today is your first day.
Goodbye. (leaves the room)

Scene 3:

CIKA and JUAN are sitting together, JUAN explains to CIKA the different types of Albert’s
medication.

JUAN: Do you understand? If there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to ask.

CIKA: Don’t worry, I already understand the most important medications.

JUAN: Alright (JUAN gives CIKA a book) This is a guidebook about Albert’s medications, you
can study it.

CIKA: Thank you very much, Juan.

JUAN: Well then, I’m going to the hospital now. (JUAN leaves CIKA)

ACT 4:

Scene 1:

CIKA, HELEN, JESSI, BELA, and AINI are having dinner together. AINI has prepared a small
party to celebrate CIKA’s new job and has invited HELEN, JESSI, and BELA.

BELA: Cika, congratulations on your new job at Mrs. Jihan’s house.

HELEN: What are your duties there? Is it a difficult job?

CIKA: I don’t think it’s a difficult job. Just taking care of Albert and memorizing some of
Albert’s medications.

JESSI: Is Albert handsome? Rumor has it that Albert is a handsome guy.

HELEN, BELA, and CIKA laugh and mock JESSI’s statement

AINI: Alright, alright, the most important thing is that Cika got the job and we should celebrate
this good news now.

HELEN, BELA & JESSI: Congratulations on your new job, Cika! (HELEN, BELA, and JESSI
cheer)

ACT 5:

Scene 1:

CIKA is preparing lunch for ALBERT. CIKA is ready to feed ALBERT.

CIKA: Are you ready for lunch? If you are, I’ll start feeding you.

ALBERT: (just nods)

CIKA: (starts feeding ALBERT)

ALBERT: Why do you want to work as a caregiver? A caregiver for a paralyzed person like me.

CIKA: Maybe because caregiving or serving others is my skill, so I decided to apply for the job
here and it’s also the only job opening available.

ALBERT: Alright...

CIKA: So... do you have any hobbies? I really like reading books and maybe watching movies...

ALBERT: (still silent, not answering CIKA’s question, making CIKA feel guilty for talking too
much) I like watching football matches.
CIKA: That’s great, Albert.

ACT 6:

Scene 1:

CIKA is sitting waiting for JUAN who is checking ALBERT’s health progress. After a few
minutes, JUAN comes out of ALBERT’s room and meets CIKA.

JUAN: It’s been a week since you started working here but Albert’s condition is much happier.

CIKA: I always try to cheer up Albert and always tell him stories about anything. I make sure to
take care of Albert’s health carefully.

JUAN: Yup! That’s very impressive, I have a suggestion for you... how about you spend time
with Albert doing fun activities, like going for a walk, having dinner, watching movies, or
something like that.

CIKA: Alright, I’ll plan some activities for Albert and me. Because staying in this room every
day makes me bored too.

Scene 2:

After dinner, CIKA cleans the dishes and brings some popcorn. CIKA prepares the equipment to
watch a movie, then sits next to ALBERT.

ALBERT: What are you doing? Are you planning something?

CIKA: Albert, we need some entertainment and tonight I’m going to take you to stream a movie.
I’ve already prepared snacks for us.

ALBERT: What movie are we going to watch?

CIKA: Don’t worry, I’ve already picked a movie that’s suitable for us to watch tonight. The title
