Returnable Transport Packing (RTP)
Returnable Transport Packing (RTP)
Definition: - RTP is the process where a company or user returns the packaging material
back to the vendor’s end after consuming the product.
Example: - Coca-Cola Glass bottle containing the liquid soft drink, Gas cylinder containing
Gas, Water jar containing Water. Hence, after consumption of respective materials we are
returning the vacant container to vendor’s end.
Key Points:-
1. RTP stocks are owned externally, which is non-valuated.
2. RTP stocks are always lying under the unrestricted stock; this stock can neither be in
the quality inspection nor be in the blocked stock.
3. If we conceder Coca-cola, then Main material should be the soft liquid drink
(Material type- ROH)
4. Packaging material should be the glass bottle (Material type- LEIH)
Business Scenario:-
➢ Say for example, in Plant A they need CO gas monthly basis cylinder which is full of
10 kg gas for each cylinder.
➢ Vendor can’t afford to send new cylinder for gas supply every time.
➢ For sending gas material vendor needs a packaging cylinder.
➢ That’s why, vendor need empty cylinder which we are issuing goods with the help of
502 M movement type.
➢ In above scenario vacant cylinder is considered as returnable packaging material.
