Cyber threats. These experiences gave me interest in Cybersecurity and prepared me for advanced studies in
this field.

5.What is your job role?

Configuring and maintaining firewalls, monitoring network traffic, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and
documenting firewall configurations.
I was responsible for configuring and maintaining firewalls to protect the organization's network from
unauthorized access. This involved setting up rules and policies to filter incoming and outgoing traffic based
on security protocols. I also monitored network traffic to detect and respond to any suspicious activity.
Additionally, I troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure smooth network operations and documented all
firewall configurations and changes to maintain accurate records for future reference.

6.Can you provide an example of a specific challenge you faced in your job and how you resolved it?
One big challenge I faced was unusual network traffic that looked like a security breach. I checked the
traffic logs and found signs of a possible man-in-the-middle attack. I quickly isolated the affected part of the
network and added stricter firewall rules and better monitoring. After fixing the issue, I documented what
happened and updated our security protocols to prevent it from happening again. This experience taught me
the importance of being alert and responding quickly in network security.

7.What tools or technologies did you use in your previous job?

I primarily used tools like Cisco ASA for firewall management, Wireshark for network traffic analysis, and
SolarWinds for network monitoring. These tools helped me effectively manage network security and

enabling proactive protection. It also aids compliance with security policies and regulations.

10.What are the key components of a firewall configuration?

Rules and Policies: Define what traffic is allowed or denied based on source, destination, ports, and protocols.
NAT(Network Address Translation): Manages IP address mapping to ensure secure communication between
internal and external networks.
VPN(Virtual Private Network): Configures secure remote access for users.
Logging and Monitoring: Enables tracking of all firewall activities and traffic for analysis and auditing.
Updates and Patches: Ensures the firewall software is up-to-date with the latest security patches.

Yes, I conducted research during my undergraduate studies. I worked on a project focused on network
security protocols.

12.What was the finding of that research?

Network security protocols focused on enhancing the robustness of encryption methods used in securing
data transmission. The key finding was that integrating a multi-layered encryption approach significantly
increased resistance to various types of Cyber attacks, such as man-in-the-middle and brute force attacks.
This improved protocol showed a marked increase in data security and reduced the vulnerability of networks
to unauthorized access, making it a valuable contribution to the field of Cybersecurity.

13.In your four years of study, have you had any failures?
Yes, I have faced challenges and setbacks during my studies. However, these experiences taught me
resilience and problem-solving skills. For example, I initially struggled with a particularly difficult course in
