Intern - Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Bangalore

The Role:
LeadSquared platform and product suite is 100% on the cloud and currently all on AWS. The product suite
comprises a large number of applications, services, and APIs built on various open-source and AWS native tech
stacks and deployed across multiple AWS accounts. The role involves leading the mission-critical responsibility
of ensuring that all our online services are available, reliable, performant, and running at optimal costs. We firmly
believe in a code and automation-driven approach to Site Reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
• SRE engineers are responsible for monitoring the availability and performance of our production
environment with improved efficiency and reliability of our SaaS services with optimal capacity planning
of our cloud infrastructure which is 100% hosted on AWS.
• They are also responsible for incident management including emergency responses and making
necessary changes to ensure issues are mitigated on time and with quality.
• Track incidents and ensures the root cause analysis is done on all issues with preventive actions being
executed and well documented.
• The team works closely with DevOps, InfoSec & Engineering teams to improve the performance,
reliability, and operability of various applications and services.
• They also get to work with best-in-class tools like NewRelic, Grafana, Loggly, PagerDuty, Site24x7,
FreshService, Kibana, AKAMAI etc along with AWS services like RDS, ESS, ECS, EC2, VPCs, Redis,
Lambda, etc.
• Improve Observability along with Monitoring.
• Work with customers to address their concerns on infrastructure availability, performance, and security.

Key Requirements:
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Good understanding of observability AWS cloud services – EC2, RDS, Elasticsearch, Redis, SQS, API
Gateway, Lambda, etc and monitoring tools.
• Ability to monitor multi-tenant SaaS environment including web applications, database services, APIs,
and backend jobs setup.
• Handle live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot application, and infrastructure issues, and follow
and implement SRE best practices.
• Gather and analyse performance metrics from OS and applications.
• Very disciplined with exceptional documentation skills and strong interpersonal communication skills
(including listening, speaking, and writing).
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to create & work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other DevOps and engineering
teams.
• Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to program in one or more languages like Python and certification in AWS/ITIL is a plus.
