ABSTRACT
School-age children are the holders of the nation's leadership milestones in the future, with this regeneration the
health of school-age children needs to be maintained. The school forum to improve the health status of school-
age children is the School Health Unit (UKS) but the management of UKS is still in the manual stage. The
purpose of this study is to analyze a management information system that can be used to effectively manage
UKS. The method used is a literature review with two main databases, namely Google Scholar and the Garuda
Portal. Of the 432 articles, they were selected to produce 6 selected articles which resulted in several
information systems that can be used at UKS so that they can assist UKS users in terms of administrative
management, medical e-records, and recording and integrated data that allows data to be conveyed to policy
makers.
Keywords: UKS Application, UKS Technology, UKS Management Information System
INTRODUCTION
School-age children are the pillars of national leadership in the future, with this regeneration
the health of school-age children needs to be maintained. School as a place for children to
study should have a supportive, protective environment that provides a sense of security and
comfort for children, which will greatly assist the process of finding identity (Yosada &
Kurniati, 2019). The school platform for improving the health status of school-age children is
the School Health Unit (UKS).
The School Health Program is a UKS program in the national education sector, which is
implemented in all types and levels of education, both public and private schools, starting
from elementary school (SD) to senior high school (SMA). Based on the principles of the
UKS Management and Development Policy established by the Government and the UKS
Group, UKS has three main programs known as Trias UKS. The three programs are, first,
health education, which includes information and understanding about maintaining and
improving health, and second, health services, which includes phototherapy. and third: a
healthy school environment (Apriani & Gazali, 2018)
In fact, various problems still limit the implementation of the UKS policy. (Ministry of
Health, 2018) states that there are several obstacles in implementing UKS, for example there
are still many UKS teachers who are not trained, there are school and madrasah principals
who do not support UKS, schools and madrasas do not support it. support UKS. there are still

few doctors or youth health workers, lack of teacher motivation as UKS implementers,
because UKS teachers lack credit, there are no health material guidelines to guide teachers,
Innovation (Ervina et al., 2018). In addition, manual management and registration processes
are obstacles in the management of UKS (Masturoh et al., 2019).
With the problems that occur at UKS including obstacles to the UKS administration process
and UKS recording which is still manual, the researchers wanted to conduct a systematic
review of the literature aimed at implementing a management information system in the
School Health Enterprises (UKS).
RESEARCH METHODS
The method used is a literature study by searching databases from various references such as
research journals, review articles and case reports related to the use of information systems in
the School Health Enterprises (UKS). The inclusion criteria are as follows: the article is the
result of research using a research model using the UKS management information system.
Exclusion criteria are articles that are not full text and are not research results.
Literature was reviewed based on Google scolar database searches and the Garuda Portal with
the following keywords: UKS Technology, UKS Information Systems and UKS Applications.
The vulnerable years of publication of articles are between 2018-2022.3. Results and
Discussions.

Based on the results of the research conducted, several management information systems were
found that could be applied to the School Health Enterprises (UKS). Based on research
conducted by Masturo, et. Al explained that the use of the Sikas Application in health
screening of school-age children can be done, however this application has drawbacks,
namely there is no online feature yet and it is not yet possible to pass on the results of the
screening directly to policy makers.
The results of research conducted by Sakti et al 2020, the use of PIECES Framework
technology as an information system for managing School Health Enterprises (UKS) has
produced a design that is very useful for managing UKS. This can be seen by providing
educational materials, counseling schedules or exchanging consultation messages, besides that
there is a dashboard for information on the condition of the UKS. This feature is also
equipped with a data security system including a user and password so that it can be used as a
medium for running the UKS work program optimally with promotive and preventive
principles.
Research conducted by Fadli in 2020 describes the use of a management information system
by utilizing the SDLC Model with distinctive features, namely health screening including
weight and height, vital signs and nutrition-related examinations in elementary school
children. The SDLC model makes it possible to store Health screening data so that the data
obtained can be maintained.
The next UKS management information system model is the Waterfall Model, where this
model has features that focus on recording integrated student medical records so as to produce
Health report cards at the end of the semester, besides that if necessary this system can be
connected to a notification system to parents. With this system, it is hoped that parents can
easily receive student health information. (Absari, 2021)
Research conducted by Sutoyo 2020 provides a prototype model of the Unified Modeling
Language (UML) and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), the results of the study state that
this model can quickly build a UKS information system so that UKS management can run
more efficiently.
The use of the MySQL database developed by Darmawan 2019 found that the mini site has an
information system that has novelty with several menus such as the officer menu, medicine
menu, complaints menu, new or old patient flow, registration procedures, pharmacies,
medical record menus which are integrated into one.
CONCLUSION
The use of a management information system for managing School Health Enterprises (UKS)
is very useful in creating a professional UKS. This is evidenced by the existence of several
studies on the use of information systems in replacing the previously manual UKS process
towards the use of information technology. However, there are several factors that influence
the successful use of technology at UKS, namely the readiness of school stakeholders, UKS
staff or the resources available at UKS. It is hoped that the results of this study can provide
enlightenment to school health nurses to apply information technology at UKS.
