 GENESIS OF THE SOCIETY: People Awareness Society was created on 5th

November 2015 and is registered under section 3 of societies registration act 1860
(Regd.No.SR/ITA/4153).A group of like-minded people laid the ground work for
formation of an apex body to create a common platform to raise awareness to people of
Arunachal Pradesh about Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries,
Children, Civic Issues, Environment & Forests, Health & Family Welfare, Human
Rights, Labor & Employment, Sports, Tourism, Tribal Affairs, Vocational Training,
Water Resources, Women’s Development & Empowerment, Youth Affairs. It is a non-
profit, non- governmental organization which is completely free from political affiliation,
religion, caste or creeds etc. compromising a group of dedicated and concerned people,
intellectuals and social minded people, who are actively involved in bringing a positive
change and development through their multi- faceted, innovative, women empowerment,
educational and environment related works and researches. It was formed on 5 th
November 2015 and registered under society registration act 1860.

 VISION: A Society for multi- Dimensional & Innovative leads for women
empowerment, education, and environment.

 MISSION: Mission to help, co-operate and work with others similar NGOs and welfare
organizations that are also working for upliftment of Adi people and Adi belt in particular
and people of the state of Arunachal Pradesh as whole.

village in Upper Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh

Let me take the privilege to welcome you all for this annual gathering of the Association. I am
thankful to you all for providing me the great opportunity to present this annual activities or
report and to devote your valuable time to make yourself present on this occasion. Your active
financial and moral support is ever encouraging us to explore new and effective approaches for
realization of our ingrained objective of holistic development.

Before elaborating the achievements made, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our
committed members whose self-less and dedicated service has given a new dimension to the
recognition and acceptance to the Association within the community. Had it not been there, it
was not feasible for us to carry out our objects so delight. Within our limited financial resources,
which are being generated out of Membership fee, donations and etc, we are striving our best to
serve the community up to the maximum extent possible. Today’s turnout is again endorsing our
success beyond reasonable doubt.

The following activities have been successfully undertaken by our Association during the
financial year 2022-23

1. Women Empowerment Programme: Violence against women is rooted in

discrimination and inequality, making it challenging to address. Creating awareness to
end violence is about changing people’s heart and minds in Government, Civil Society
organization and in the general public. Most of the women are not aware with the rights
given to them by constitution and remedial avenues/platform provided through state
government. Women from villages or backward area are mostly illiterate or some of them

can only write or read. Some women can only sign. Due to this they are unaware about
various laws, rules and regulations. Therefore, they cannot claim their rights.
Our Society held a 7-day activity on women awareness to educate the women who are
unaware about their rights. More than 23 women of nearby places attended the
programme. During the event we enlightened the gathering regarding:
 The rights of safeguard given to them by constitution, and by various regulations
and rules.
 The information on constitutional rights and civil privileges among them so that
they can fight against inequalities.
 To setup of associations like trade unions for agricultural laborer’s
 On developing awareness among working women about diverse schemes
implemented through district, provincial and state government.

2. Artisan Training Programme: An artisan is a skilled worker who possesses a trade

specialization after having completed an apprenticeship under a qualified tradesperson.
Because they combine learning and work (before culminating in a trade test),
apprenticeships are intensive and costly processes of skill acquisition, with government
and apprentices’ employers both incurring costs. This performance and expenditure
review was commissioned to analyse the Artisan Development Programme, identify its
key cost drivers, and explore the potential for cost savings or better value for money. It
sets out the structure and delivery processes for the programme, analyses expenditure
trends, and presents a model for projecting the costs of artisan development under various
policy scenarios. It also identifies implementation challenges.

The programme was designed to ensure that delivery is based not only on high quality,
relevant course material, but also on experiential and practical learning that complements
the content taught in the classroom. Focus was kept on making them competitive in the
commercial ecological system so as to become self-sustained and productive.
A five days artisian training programme was conducted where as many as 30 artisans of
different trades, attended the programme and were trained with new skill sets for
commercial exploitation of their respective talents.

3. Sports & Cultural Activities: Sports play a great role in our life as it keeps us healthy,
wealthy and active. We can have a healthy mind only when we have a healthy body.
Great achievements come our way when we maintain our physical and mental well-being
and sports help us to maintain a good health and improve coordination and overall
personality of an individual. It makes a person more active, attentive and enhances his
mental and physical capabilities. A one-day activity Programme was conducted by our
society with the objectives to create an awareness of the importance of regular physical
activity, fitness, teamwork and inculcate a positive competitive spirit and to carry these
traits into the students’ adult life.
4. Children Educational Awareness Programme: Most of the people in rural areas of our
society are daily labors and having poor knowledge about education. Most of them are
getting very low wages which is insufficient to their day to day lead. Most of the people
make their children as their assistant for their day to work. The financial aspects are the
important drawback to handicap them to send their children. More over all of them also
unaware about the assistance and such as free education, free uniforms and scholarships
provided to the school going children.

Our Society has conducted the awareness programme about the importance of education
and its impact. We also conduct the counseling programme to the parents about the
importance of the education. More than 50 parents and their children are participated in
this programme.

5. Vocational Training Programmes: Vocational training focuses on developing technical

skills, it is the instructional program that prepares people for an occupation that requires a
specialized skill, such as a technician, artisan or tradesperson. Our society had held a 4
day Vocational Training Programmes for the people of Yinkiong, many turn up for the
programmes
6. Skill Development Programme: Skill development is the process of improving specific
skills to be more efficient and effective. Our Society has held a 1 day skill development
programme, where many youth turned up.
