SECTION 1. SIZE LIMITATION


The evaluation copy of CAEPIPE you have downloaded is a
Full, Working Copy - limited only to 20 lines of input. You can
only save / analyze models that fall within this size limit.

SECTION 2. REVIEWING BIGMODEL.mod


As you cannot build a big model within the 20 element
limit, SST includes a 'pre-saved', 'pre-analyzed' Big Model
(650 elements) so that you may view all portions of such
an analysis anytime you wish.

Simply File>Open - BigModel.mod


This model is the one that opens when you first install CAEPIPE.

SECTION 3. REVIEWING SAMPLE.mod


a. For your easy evaluation, an Acrobat document
Tutorial.pdf
has been provided which gives you step-by-step instructions
on how to build the sample model.
b. This pdf file is located in your CAEPIPE\510E subdirectory
which was created when you installed CAEPIPE.
c. Find and print this document.
d. To be prepared for an efficient conversation / use of your time,
build your own (use a different model name) model before
calling SST's technical support.

SECTION 4. GETTING STARTED USER'S MANUAL


The CAEPIPE v5.1x Getting Started User's Manual (PDF Format) is available at
SST's Website - Download Page (as Item 1c)

This is most of the front-end portion of SST's CAEPIPE User's Manual and
certainly enough for your initial evaluation. It is suggested that you review
this material

AFTER you have


Reviewed the bigmodel.mod,
Printed and used the Tutorial.pdf to construct the sample.mod.

SECTION 5. HOT KEYS


Like any advanced software, CAEPIPE has HOT KEYS - ways to
more easily input data. Under HELP, navigate to the Menus section. This section
has the different menus with hotkeys, function descriptions and equivalent icons.

SECTION 6. SST's TECHNICAL SUPPORT


Once you have cursorily reviewed the Evaluation software, viewed the
BigModel, and built a Sample Model, a

10 minute conversation
with SST's Technical Support personnel can

save you 5 - 10 man hours


in completing your software evaluation. Use this resource.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Technical Support, and how responsive they are is one item
which rarely is listed when any pipe stress analysis software
is evaluated and certainly such is even more rarely listed
as a deciding consideration in recommendations to management.

As you are the individual that will be required to use this software, long term, this
issue is of supreme importance to you. You can only be convinced of the depth
and responsive nature of SST's technical support by obtaining support NOW,
before your evaluation is complete.

SECTION 7. USE CAEPIPE-EVAL FOR REAL WORK


We call this CAEPIPE-EVAL (a full, working copy, limited only in
size) our ADDICTION PACKAGE.

We want you to use it for Real Work. There is no reason you should
ever do 'hand calculations' again. Further, the Evaluation is not copy
protected - for a reason. Give copies to co-workers. Let them use
it too - free.
