ABSTRACT
The BIM methodology involves the coordination of different technologies for project
management through a single 3D digital model that shortens the times of both the design
and the production, and therefore it reduces costs. It also implies a new way of
coordinating the different teams involved, improving the quality of the engineering
projects, architecture and construction.
In this article we will disaggregate the changes that have taken place in the working and
project development methods, optimizing the process, streamlining phases of the project
and achieving a more linear and collaborative workflow.
In the early stages, where the project evolves and is being generated, the BIM
methodology helps us to easily extract floors and sections from a single 3D model. This
model is the germ of the project and thanks to the various displays; it allows the
understanding of the different proposals by the customer and by our own team, and all
that in real time.
Because of the importance of the project's implementation on its place and its adaptation
to the environment, is valuable the information we can get about the energy evaluation of
the building. In this way from the initial phases comparatives of different sustainable
solutions are generated, allowing us to select the most appropriate from the conceptual
phase.
For this, we use the BIM model to study the optimum orientation of the rooms, the
amount of solar radiation and lower environmental impact (6D). We may, if necessary,
export the model to specific tools that complement the information obtained from the
native model.
The coordination of the design team begins gaining importance in the intermediate
stages. From the start, domains and the ability to modify the different design elements of
each team member should be managed. BIM model and an open environment, enables
various design teams simultaneously design different parts of the project, without getting
interference and expediting the process.
The IFC files are also used to federate or integrate the different partial models of the
project, and check the degree of collisions between them. By using verification tools we
detect in advance possible anomalies that may cause conflict later in work, and thus
avoiding more costly changes the execution of the work.

INTRODUCTION
1. INTRODUCTION: -
Building Information Modeling / Management is a one-stop project managementsystem for
design & construction industry.
It is the process of using information rich 3-D models as a central database tocreate, check &
communicate project information among all stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
Building Information Modeling/Management is a shift from the traditional linear project work-
flow. 3Dimensional models help communicate access and manage the project information both
graphically and also in spreadsheet formats helping todevelop higher quality projects.
1.1 BIM-PROJECT-WORKFLOW
BIM project life-cycle encourages collaboration of the entire project teamduring the
full life-cycle. BIM also provides access to seamless communicationwith minimal loss of
information and enables the team to make critical project decisions early in the process.
BIM is currently perceived as the only direction for the construction industry to increase
productivity and to develop high quality and sustainable construction projects. It has been made
an industry wide mandatory process and is followed by many countries. Early adopters are
already reaping the benefits of the change with greater efficiency. There has been a rise in
productivity and also a gain in the competitive edge.
1.2 BIM-MODELLING
BIM is the process of authoring, analyzing and using the information rich3-D models
to make informed design decisions.
BIM as Modeling involves authoring and analyzing 3dimensional building models with
information. Many models are developed through a project life cycle to meet the project goals.
Each model carries information specific to the purpose and in many cases, the same models are
developed from one stage to another by adding more details.
• Design-Development-Models
as the conceptual design is finalized, architects and engineers develop a multi-disciplinary
BIM model. Most of the information incorporated into the Concept Model is reused to
avoid duplicating modeling efforts. The models developed during this stage are used for
detailed design analysis and to identify coordination issues between all the disciplines.
• Construction-Models
Construction Models are generally developed by the contractors using design models
developed in the previous phase. They carry information specific to the construction and
assembly techniques used in the project. These models are further developed to simulate
and analyze the construction schedule and also to generate quantities for cost estimation.
• As-built-Models
As-built models are developed along with the construction of the actual project on-
site. Decisions made on the site are documented in the as-built models to record the final
building accurately on the BIM model.
• Asset-Information-Models
Asset Information Models (AIM) are developed using the As-builts by incorporating
additional details specific to all the equipment and other project specific assets. AIM models
are used to manage buildings post construction for handover and facility
management activities.
1.3BIM–MANAGEMENT
BIM is the process of managing & maintaining information rich 3D models during the course of a
project life cycle.
BIM as Management involves working with the models to successfully maintain andcommunicate
the project information. The process of managing a BIM project is different from the traditional
way of working. BIM projects require all project stakeholders to be involved at the early stage.
BIM encourages closer collaborationwith the team members avoiding loss of information.
• Technology
BIM Technology is radically developed with new tools introduced into the market
frequently. Models require special hard-ware and software and it is one of the main aspects
to consider before starting a BIM project. BIM Data is heavier in size and more complex
and requires the team to gain the skills- set to manage a project using BIM.
• Schedule-Management
Project schedule in a BIM environment is organized differently from the traditional
workflow. BIM Project encourages the team members to make decisions early in the
project and provides the requires information for this. This requires the project schedule to
accommodate more time for the pre- construction phases of the project.
• Collaboration
Collaboration is the key to succeed in any construction project. BIM models enable to team
to work in more collaborative environment. BIM Collaboration enables all project
stakeholders to access critical project information at all stages of the project more
methodology for modeling and communication from the beginning.
1.4 BIM-SOFTWARE’S
➢ Autodesk Revit
The first software is Autodesk Revit. Revit is established BIM design software thatenables users
to create, edit, and view building models in a three-dimensional environment. It is one of the most
popular BIM software programs on the market and is used by BIM architects, BIM engineers, and
construction professionals worldwide.
The use of Revit to produce 3D BIM models significantly reduces miscommunication and helps
create better visualizations and construction documents.
Autodesk Revit software is a powerful BIM production software solution that can help BIM
architects and MEP engineers to collaborate on projects and create high- quality design and
construction documents.
Autodesk Revit coordinates changes made by different team members and tracks revisions made
to the BIM model. The software also generates construction documents, such as floor plans,
elevations, and sections.

Revizto is a cloud-based BIM solution that helps architecture, engineering, and construction
professionals improve communication and project coordination.
Revizto facilitates a seamless workflow between 3D and 2D, allowing the user to communicate
with all participants within a collaborative environment.
Revizto software solutions can be used for all design and construction phases and their main
features are some awesome clash management and issue monitoring workflows.
The platform enables users to create combined digital models of their projects for clash detection,
coordination, change management, and more.
Revizto also offers a wide range of features for communication and collaboration, such as format
conversion, real-time markups, and file sharing.
Revizto provides a simple and interactive 3D environment where users can view, measure, markup,
and share many types of 3D models. Revizto is BIM visualizationsoftware that also offers a variety
of advanced features such as model comparison, clash detection, and an advanced Issue Tracker

use, making it easy to share models and BIM data.
➢ BIM Collab
BIM Collab is a BCF-based issue management system that works to eliminate the gaps between
different BIM tools (see open BIM concepts for more about BCF). It’sintended to assist businesses
working on construction projects in handling concerns throughout the design and construction
phases.
BIM Collab is a web-based application for model coordination and clash detection that helps AEC
professionals to work together on BIM projects.
The features of BIM Collab include real-time collaboration, model comparisons, andvisualizations.
The platform allows users to connect with project partners and view BIM models inreal-time,
facilitating collaboration and coordination. BIM Collab also provides a range of tools for markup,
issue tracking, and version management, helping teams resolve issues quickly and avoid potential
conflicts.
In addition, the platform offers a range of integrations with leading building information modeling
software applications, making it easy for users to connect withtheir existing workflows.
➢ Dalux
Dalux is BIM software that helps with construction project management. It is a cloud-based
application that can be accessed from anywhere. The features of Daluxinclude progress tracking,
cost management, scheduling, and resource allocation. You can also access BIM data analytics for
valuable project insights.
Dalux is a versatile BIM solution that helps you manage all aspects of yourconstruction project from
start to finish. Dalux allows you to control your project’s2D and 3D models and collaborate with
other team members in real-time. Dalux also provides various tools for managing construction
documents, such as a document library, version control, and commenting.
Dalux is different because it offers a free version for small projects and a paid version for larger
projects. Dalux also provides BIM data analytics, which gives you valuable insights into your
project.
In addition to Revit, Autodesk also sells the Autodesk Construction Cloud (previously BIM360),
to support BIM project delivery. Autodesk Construction Cloud is also known as ACC for short.
The ACC service attempts to centralize and improve decision-making at all stages of a project.
Some notable features include design review, BIM coordination, safety program checklists, issues
management, and deliverable coordination, among other things.
Seamless data exchange is enabled between field and office with ACCpromoting better
coordination and collaboration.
ACC also offers a suite of mobile apps that allow users to access data and documents from
anywhere, at any time.
➢ Graphisoft ArchiCAD
ArchiCAD has been regarded by many as the first implementation of BIM.ArchiCAD is developed
by the Hungarian company Graphisoft.
Graphisoft began developing ArchiCAD for Macs in 1982. However, Graphisoft has now long
supported both Macs and Microsoft Windows computers.
ArchiCAD offers a wide variety of BIM editor tools for handling all common aspects of the
architectural design process, including project collaboration, MEP engineering, energy analysis,
and construction documentation.
ArchiCAD also provides powerful software for rendering and presentation, makingit easy to create
stunning visuals that convey the unique vision of your project.
Although the “Arch” part of the name might imply this, ArchiCAD is not just for designing
architecture. It is also popular for designing structures, other buildings, and even cities!
Solibri Model Checker (or SMC for short) is an open BIM model-checking tool that helps
architects and structural engineers to verify the quality of their Building Information Models
(BIM). SMC is not for structural analysis, but it can be used torun rules and find clashes in BIM
models.
Solibri is a desktop application that you can use to define extremely detailed rules for checking
BIM models.
For example, rules could “check if all doors are ADA compliant” or “check if all stairs meet code
requirements”.
By doing so, you can verify that the BIM model meets all the local building coderules and
requirements.
The SMC analyses the model for potential problems and displays the results in an easy-to-
understand report. This report or the exported BCF data can then be used tomake changes to the
model, ensuring that it meets all the necessary requirements.
Solibri is different because it is one of the only BIM tools that gets into the weeds for model
checking and BIM quality assurance. Solibri Model Checker helps to ensure that the final BIM
product is of the highest quality which helps with project cost control.
➢ BricsCAD BIM
Another comprehensive BIM tool is BricsCAD BIM – a versatile solution owned byHexagon –
another of the significant CAD players in the market.
BricsCAD BIM can be used for every stage in the design process, from sketching tothe addition of
BIM data for the complete building information model. The ability to manipulate different
components and properties on your projects is pretty much unlimited.
BricsCAD BIM is an information/BIM modeling software used in the design and construction
process to create a digital representation similar to Revit and ArchiCAD.
It also similarly helps to reduce the need for paper drawing and documentation.
BricsCAD BIM helps architects, structural engineers, and construction professionalsto plan, design,
and construct buildings. It also helps to communicate designinformation among team.
BricsCAD BIM says that they have a different vision for BIM. They focus on a CADfirst approach
(with a vision based on a familiar DWG platform) but it combines early design, BIM, and
fabrication into a single, continuously developing workflow.

LITERATURE REVIEW
2. LITERATURE REVIEW:-
1) Salzano, A.; Intignano, M.; Mottola, C.; Biancardo, S.A.; Nicolella, M.;
Dell’Acqua, G. Systematic Literature Review of Open Infrastructure BIM.
Buildings 2023: - This review examines studies related to the implementation of Open I-BIM, the
management of information during the civil construction life cycle, the use of virtual and augmented
reality to improve communication and data sharing between team members, the integration of BIM
of temporal and spatial information for site safety purposes, and the complexity of BIM’s dimensions
and domains. Considering that the scientific literature about Open I-BIM in the civil construction
sector is very vast and covers various aspects, the research method used considered parameters to
delimit the field of investigation suitable for deriving a systematic review. In this regard, the applied
methodology takes into account the method of publication sorting performed by Jang et al. (2021) [6]
for drafting a literature review on BIM platforms, the method performed by Lopez et al. (2018) fora
literature review inherent to H-BIM [7],the method performed by Matane et al. (2019) for a literature
review inherent to BIM for FM [8], the PRISMA protocol method performed by Regena et al. (2022)
[9], and the method performed by Yao etal. (2022) [10].The scientific literature search was conducted
on Scopus, a web- based platform of reference for scientific information, drawing on search results,
articles, and scientific publications that include in the title, abstract, and author keywords words that
are significant and salient to the objective of the following research. It should be stated that the data
shown were collected in April 2023. The choice of search engine was Scopus by Elsevier, as it is
considered by the bibliometric community to be a valid tool for accessing scientific information, due
to its ability to collect publication data, track citations, and create metrics. It has beenidentified as a
better bibliographic–bibliometric database of abstracts and citations from scientific literature and
authoritative web sources than even Web of Science [11,12]. Furthermore, Bosman argues that among
academic search systems, Scopusis currently the most comprehensive search engine, as it guarantees
(with the option “analyze search results”) interesting analytical functionalities and offers solid
information on scientific knowledge [13]. In addition to this, Scopus offers greater accessibility, and
allows filters to be added to searches. The following terms were used in the search strategy: [“Open
BIM” and (“Interoperability*” or “Methodology*” or “Transport Infrastructures”)].Table 1
schematizes the sorting methodology performed through the following parameters: specific range,
languagetext, type research, subject area, manual check, identification I, identification II, duplication
check, and full text analysis. As shown in Table 1, entering ‘Open BIM’ in the search bar and
specifying that this word is only present in the ‘title, keywordsand abstract’ resulted in 971 articles.
At this stage, therefore, conference proceedings, chapters, book sections, and books were excluded.
Subsequently, the filters of specific range, language text, type research, and subject area were added,
thereby obtaining 259 papers for which the manual check was performed. By ‘manual check’, we
mean an accurate check of the results that involved the task of excluding ‘non-relevant topic’-based
articles, i.e., those not in the field, and articlespublished in scientific journals with an impact factor of
<0.5. Proceeding in this way,the ‘identification I’ phase resulted in 155 articles relating to Open BIM,
which were divided into three topic categories: it was deemed necessary to carry out a second
identification phase that included scientific articles taken from specific databases of scientific
journals, so that the articles searched using the keywords associated with the topics would contribute
to obtaining an up-to-date view of the state of the art of the Open BIM sector to offer the reader.
2) Olugbenga O. Akinade et al. (2022): - A literature review is an extensive reference
providing background and justification to the conducted scholarly works in a specific researchfield
[20]. This paper contributes an update of BIM implementation in developing countries. To collect
relevant literature, a 6-step literature search process wasadopted [21].
(1) The search focused on peer-review outlets. Moreover, as conference papers usually are of
lower quality and less mature than journal articles, only journal articleswere considered [22]. No
restriction to specific journals was made, to provide an overall view of scholarly work in the area.
(2) The search was conducted in the Elsevier Scopus database, the largest database for peer-
reviewed abstracts containing over 57 million records.
(3) The topic keywords informing the search were “Building information modelling”and “Building
information modeling”. Geographical keywords were “developing countries” and the specific
names of 135 developing nations. Topic keywords were connected to each other by using the
Boolean operator “OR”. Likewise, we linked the geographical keywords by “OR”. Only English
language articles were considered in our study leaving aside potentially relevant work published
in other languages.
(4) A limitation of this work is that we did not consider the impact and influence ofarticles in
terms of citations.
(5) The initial return of the search were 39 articles. However, through initial screening for topical
relevance we excluded articles not having to do with BIM in construction (i.e. biomedical
engineering etc.), leaving a total sample of 27 articles (6). This was followed by a full text
evaluation to categorize the collected articles according to the BIM implementation framework
presented in Table 1. After step
(6)two more articles were excluded. One article was about a hospital BIM design case study in
the Middle East, but the task
was outsourced to a design team in the US [23]. The other excluded article was an on-going study
by Enegbuma et al. [24], because their latest work was included in the sample. Thus, a total of 25
articles were classified. For articles covering
several topics, only the main focus was used for classification. The main focus wasidentified by
reading what specific purpose was stated in the article. Table 2 summarizes the search conducted.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) has become the essential methodology including the
digitalization of the built environment supply chain. BIM is a digital representation of the physical
and functional characteristics of a building and serves as a knowledge sharing
vehicle for building information (Barlish and Sullivan, 2012). Incentives and use related to BIM
have been increasing over the past few years and received considerable recognition for its ability
to reduce costs and time as well as improve quality (Juan et al., 2017). Azhar et al. (2015)
demonstrates; “BIM has gone from being a buzzword to the centerpiece of AEC3 technology”.
Although BIM is appliedto many large design and construction projects it is still not common
practice throughout the industry. Now, design and construction projects are
more efficient in terms of cost reduction, quality improvement, time schedule and abetter work
flow between project participants. In addition, project owners have started realizing other benefits
deriving from BIM as a work method, such: as reduce claims, enabling easier calculations and
visualizations for promotional purposes andease of cross-disciplinary collaboration to name a few
(Sanchez and Joske, 2016; McGraw Hill Construction, 2014). BIM visualization is a form of
income of what you see is what you, so that people will be the formation of the previous line of

Project design, construction and operation of the whole process in the visual environment for a

and jobs is relatively large, great construction difficulty and the construction more problems, to
the design and construction scheme optimization, can bring a significant time and cost.
Methods: -
This study uses a holistic literature review to examine the latest mainstream research and identify
gaps and future trends in the field of BIM for PC. Previous studies advo-cated this method in
reviewing the literature, because it combines quantitative and qualitative methods for inte-gration
and analysis of available literature (Jin et al., 2018, 2019). The overall workflow is illustrated in
Figure 1 and consists of three steps, namely, data collection, a biblio-metric analysis, and
quantitative analysis.
1.1. Data collection
In this study, Scopus was selected as the database, because it covers a wider variety of journals
and recent publica-tions than other available databases (e.g., PubMed, Web of Science) (Meho &
Rogers, 2013). Data collection began with using appropriate keywords to search the title, ab-stract,
and keyword sections of publications in the Scopus database. The search rule was:TITLE-ABS-
KEY ((“building information model*” OR “*BIM” OR “virtual design and construction” OR
“VDC” OR “as-built model*” OR “virtual model*” OR “CAVT*”)
AND(“prefabrication” OR “prefabricated building” OR “pre-fabricated housing” OR
“prefabricated construction” OR “precast concrete” OR “precast fabrication” OR “off*site
construction” OR “off*site manufactur*” OR “off*site pro-duction” OR “modular construction”
OR “modular build-ing” OR “industriali?ed construction” OR “industriali?ed building*” OR
“industriali?ed housing” OR “modern method* of construction”)).Notably, to obtain all valuable
related publications, the search had no timeframe limitation.Based on the aforementioned
keywords, 370 journals were selected. However, some articles outside of the re-search scope were
included in the search results. Thus, two additional criteria for article selection were employed to
determine the research boundary. (1) The papers selected for the study were all peer-reviewed
scientific journals in English to ensure the quality of the data. Conference papers were excluded
because they are published with more frequency but less detail than journal papers (Jin et al.,
2018).(2) The focus of the selected articles was strictly lim-ited to the application of BIM for PC.
Articles be-yond the scope of the Engineering, Construction and Architecture (ECA) industries
were excluded. Subsequently, each article in the search results was screened to exclude those that
did not match all of the above criteria. Finally, a dataset of 103 articles was estab-lished for the
present study.
1.2. Bibliometric analysis
A bibliometric analysis, is a quantitative method used for mapping the domain of scientific data
on a given subject (van Eck & Waltman, 2010), and has gained popularity among scholars of
various disciplines (Oraee et al., 2017). Consequently, this paper adopts VOSviewer, a text-
mining tool for bibliometric analysis that is available for free, to analyze and visualize the dataset
in the domain of BIM for PC. The objectives of this step were to: 1) import the downloaded
articles from Scopus; 2) visualize the distri-bution of articles according to year, journal title and
cita-tions contained, and analyze publication trends and the influence of key journals and
articles; and 3) mapping the mainstream research areas based on co-occurrence of key-words
analysis.
1.3. Qualitative analysis
Following the bibliometric analysis, a qualitative analysis was conducted to determine the
mainstream areas and identify the potential research gaps and future needs. A qualitative method
was chosen because it furnishes the broadest comparison of different studies and can help identify
any blind spots in the existing research (Oraeeet al., 2017). It should be noted that this method
requires a detailed understanding of the content of each article. Al-though time-consuming, careful
reading can help identify preliminary but significant research topics that are difficult to locate with
a bibliometric analysis alone
A literature review is an extensive reference providing background and justification to the
conducted scholarly works in a specific research field. This paper contributes an update of BIM
implementation in developing countries. To collect relevant literature, a 6-step literature search
process was adopted.
(1) The search focused on peer-review outlets. Moreover, as conference papers usually are of lower
quality and less mature than journal articles, only journal articles were considered. No restriction
to specific journals was made, to provide an overall view of scholarly work in the area.
(2) The search was conducted in the Elsevier Scopus database, the largest database for peer-
reviewed abstracts containing over 57 million records.
(3) The topic keywords informing the search were “Building information modelling” and
“Building information modeling”. Geographical keywords were “developing countries” and the
specific names of 135 developing nations. Topic keywords were connected to each other by using
the Boolean operator “OR”. Likewise, we linked the geographical keywords by “OR”. Only
English language articles were considered in our study leaving aside potentially relevant work
published in other languages.
(4) A limitation of this work is that we did not consider the impact and influence of articles in
terms of citations.
(5) The initial return of the search were 39 articles. However, through initial screening for topical
relevance we excluded articles not having to do with BIM in construction (i.e. biomedical
engineering etc.), leaving a total sample of 27 articles (6). This was followed by a full text
evaluation to categorize the collected articles according to the BIM implementation framework
presented in Table 1. After step (7), two more articles were excluded. One article was about a
hospital BIM design case study in the Middle East, but the task was outsourced to a design team
in the US [23]. The other excluded article was an on-going study by Enegbuma et al. [24], because
their latest work was included in the sample. Thus, a total of 25 articles were classified. For articles
coveringseveral topics, only the main focus was used for classification. The main focus was
identified by reading what specific purpose was stated in the article. Table 2 summarizes the search
conducted.

MODELING PROCESS
4. MODELING PROCESS
We are using the Revit Architecture Software for the modeling of the model
First of all we are using the AutoCAD software for model the 2D drawings of the
model. After draw the 2D detailed drawings we are starting the modeling of the
model.
Now we are using the Revit Architecture software for the 3D modeling of the
model and also the Revit software is very important in the BIM software’s. Revit is
just one of many software applications under the BIM umbrella that lead to an
efficient design of space. Revit is the main application that falls under BIM, but
there are other applications designed to perform certain functions that Revit cannot
achieve or is ineffective at tackling. Revit is Building Information Modeling (BIM)
software that has revolutionized the construction industry. It is widely used by
architects, engineers, contractors, and builders to design, visualize, and simulate
building projects. Revit has many benefits for different trades,
There are three different discipline versions of Revit. Each one has tools geared to
that particular discipline. Fortunately, all three are designed to speak the same
language.
Now we are using the Autodesk Revit Architecture 2023 software for the 3D and
2D modeling of the model. Revit does have the ability to export any schedule
which can be used by other applications. In Revit software we are using the
schedule option and directly export the model estimate schedule in PDF form.
4.1 MODELING PROCESS:
PROCESS:-
Go to the Ribbon tab and click on Insert tab, then click on the import
PDF option select PDF,, browse to the PDF that you need to work on then
click Open:
A new window will pop up. You need to select which page you want

the width and height separately, you can do that by disabling Lock

The model's front elevation should consistently match with the Front Elevation
specified in the BP.
3) Origin Point-
The origin point is already defined in the template, so you don't need to move or
relocate it.
Define where the furthest bottom is and left Stud Wall or Column and align
them with these reference planes.

Once the Floor Plan PDF is scaled and adjusted with the template's origin point.

to assign "Location Line" To Core Face Exterior before modeling exterior

4) Project Delivery
All the PDF pages should be inserted into the Revit model. There should be a view
for every page in the project. Plans, sections, details, electrical plans, elevations,
design options, and roof plans.
The main reason is that it will be helpful for both the reviewer and the modeler to
review the model
For Elevations, make sure that the PDF is aligned horizontally and
vertically:

5) Dimensions-
Insert all the dimensions from the blueprints into the model.
All walls, doors, and windows must have dimensions and need to
be locked:
Ensure that dimensioned levels are included in all exterior elevations and
section views and be sure to lock them in place.
6) Revision cloud-
One more thing modelers should do is to align reviewers for any discrepancies in
the model by Using Revision Clouds

Revision clouds are how we communicate with our clients, so it's very important to
create a revision cloud whenever there is a discrepancy or a decision we made

9.1) Core Wall-
All walls need to be the exact size as the stud’s standards + the thickness of the
sheathing layer.
All dimensions should be from the face of the core wall:
All exterior walls have the same thickness for the sheathing layer: 7/16" unless
noted otherwise in the blueprint. In some cases we have a thickness of the
sheathing layer: 1/2" unless noted otherwise in the blueprint.
Use the walls from the template without changing their thickness.

If the blueprint indicates a thickness that exceeds the template's biggest

When modeling the walls, ensure that their location line is set to "Core

Make sure to check the sheathing thickness in the spec sheet before
starting modeling. Neglecting this step will affect the modeling process:
All exterior walls must be modeled clockwise, starting in the top left corner
of the house.
All interior walls must be modeled from left to right, top to bottom.
Don't flip wall orientation using the Spacebar button on the keyboard. Use
the escape button then, start modeling the wall.
Make sure that core walls and foundation walls are modeled correctly. Not
flipped nor mirror. Note that this rule doesn't apply on the sidings.
Don't copy and paste walls between levels, each level's walls should be
modeled separately.
All walls should have Base and top constraints It shouldn’t be Unconnected.
Half walls usually, will be at the stairs, kitchen, and sometimes in the
bathroom:
Exterior Wall- Exterior walls are all the outer walls of the building. It's
calculating the studs and the exterior sheathing.
Interior Wall- Interior walls define the interior spaces of the building. It
calculates the studs & the drywall:
Fire Wall- The fire wall is located between the garage space and the living
space of the house. Fire wall rating doesn't matter to us. For example, if you
have a wall that's 1 hour rated and another that's 2 hours rated, trace them
with the same item.
Fire wall should follow the foundation wall line.
Siding Wall- Siding is the protective material attached to the exterior side of
a wall of a house and it protects it against the sun, rain, snow, heat, and cold,
thus creating a stable more comfortable environment on the interior side.
10) Floor Modeling Guideline

10.1) Joist floor- Floor joists are used in the interior. Usually, they are used for the
main floor of the house.
Subfloor
Floor system
The subfloor is a flat surface to hold up the underlayment and finish the floor and
it's the first thing we model. If we have not mention a floor system type so, we
need to model a joist floor and if we have a framing plan for the floor system so we
need to follow
llow the framing plan.
10.2) Concrete Floor- Concrete floors are used in the garage, basement, and
sometimes inside the house instead of floor joists, mainly it will be used in the
interior spaces.
The garage "concrete" floor level should always bbee the same as the garage door
level.
Use the "Concrete"" floor family.
The floor name will be (Concrete - Thickness of the concrete floor).
Ex: Concrete - 4".
Concrete floor thickness will be mentioned in the blueprints.
Concrete floor boundaries should align with the interior surface of the
foundation walls as shown below.
10.3) Porch Floor- Porch floors are used on the front and back porches.
The called out floor material does not matter, even if it's a concrete floor in a porch
area, select Porch Floor.
Use the "Driveway"" floor family and don't change the thickness or the name.
10.5) Sidewalk- A sidewalk is a paved path to connect the house with the
driveway.
Use the "Sidewalk"" floor family and don't change the thickness or the name.
10.6) Grass- Grass is used for the green area of the landscape.
10.7) Shrub Floor- Shrub is the mud floor used underneath the shrubs in the
landscape.
Pick wall- Roof must be modeled using the "Pick wall" tool to create the
roof footprint:
Extend into Wall- Always use the Extend into wall (to core) check box.
That helps to automatically skip the sheathing layer:
Rafter Cut- According to elevation in this model roof is two cut plumb.
Sub Fascia depth- we have not given a sub fascia depth of the roof so we
have followed the default sub fascia depth of the roof.
Fascia- Always we need to measure the height of the fascia from the gable
end of the front elevation.
Roof Modeling Values
Values-
There are 2 important values you should make sure you have before
starting to model the roof :
Thickness- We has followed the default thickness of the roof because we
have not given a roof thickness but we have given a roof sheathing 7/16” in
section so we need to follow this.
Overhang- For the roof overhang we have followed the roof plan and always
follow the plan because plan is our first priority.
Ridge Cap- Create a roof:
1. Select roof.
2. Press Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy roof.
3. Press Ctrl + V on your keyboard to paste.
4. Place the copied roof directly above the original roof (0.25" higher than the
original roof).
5. Make sure the Type is changed to WTS_Ridge_Cap_1 or _2 or _3 or _4 depending
of the host Roof Type.
6. Edit the roof.
7. Double click the roof to edit it.
8. Sketch the figure.
Soffit- Soffit is a finishing material, such as wood, aluminum or fiber
cement, that is installed to cover the underside of the roof overhang.

12) Door Modeling Guidelines-
Doors should be hosted on Core walls not siding walls.
The door swing angle should match the floor plan
We have followed plan for the all door type and the size of the door also
follow the plan for the swing angle of the door.
We have followed the window schedule for the All window size and window
type-
If you have a window and you don't know exactly the type use
the WTS_Window_Rectangular family.
Make sure that the family is valid, and that its measurement matches the
blueprint.
We have followed the given window head height in elevation.
Window mullion
Windows mullions should be modeled between the openings when the
distance is 4" or less.
Windows mullion between windows should be covered from the
exterior by siding walls, it should not be visible in the exterior
elevations.
When combining stacked openings, use either vertical or horizontal
mullion family,

to change the ceiling height according to us.

All Lights' positions and types need to be modelized; interior and exterior.

Trims are exterior elements that are designed to hide joints, gaps, and other
imperfections on surfaces. Trims include horizontal and vertical
cal elements such as
door and window frames.
If you have a conflict between the spec sheet and the blueprint for the trim size,
follow the blueprint.
Make sure to check the trim material and dimensions before modeling.
If you have a gap between the core wall and the siding wall, fill the gaps
around the openings ""Doors and Windows" with WTS_Trim_Wrap

If an elevation has both stone and brick walls, Stone-Brick_1

The trims will coordinate with the wall types meaning,

To determine the correct trim to assign for both stone and brick,
carefully inspect the blueprint, focusing on hatches and notes. The
trim selection will depend on material and numbering of the
corresponding wall types.

Brick_1 "STONE" wall may have a Brick_2 "BRICK"
trim,, and conversely, Stone-Brick_2 "BRICK" wall may have
a Brick_1 "STONE" trim, depending on the blueprints.
For instance,
Stone and Brick- That trim is a type of decorative molding in stone or bricks
that can be placed as a window or door header, as a window sill or as a wall
cornice.
Window Trims- Window trims are placed around the windows and we use
only the Window trim families for them.
Windows trim must be aligned with the window, creating no gaps in
between:
Door Trims- Door trims are placed around the doors and the garage doors.
There are only the Door trim families for them.
Doors trim must be aligned with the door, creating no gaps in between.
18) Fire Place- A fireplace or hearth is a structure made of brick, stone or metal
designed to contain a fire. Fireplaces are used for the relaxing ambiance they create
and for heating a room. Modern fireplaces vary in heat efficiency, depending on
the design.
19) Interior-
Kitchen Island- A kitchen island is a freestanding cabinet or countertop that
is accessible from all sides. It provides additional workspace and storage
space in the centre of your kitchen, where preparation, cooking, and cleaning
can all take place.
Master Bath- A master bathroom is the largest bathroom area within the
home, featuring at the very least a toilet, sink, and shower system and hot
and cold water supply. The majority of master bath spaces will also feature a
bathtub, with freestanding baths largely favored as the focal point of sizeable
master bathrooms.
