BUSI 2053 - Business Ethics

Personal Vision of Ethical Business Behavior (Part 1)

-Faaiz Muhammed Asif

2023-07-23
Throughout my professional career, three basic ideas have guided my approach to leadership,
work, and vocation: creating meaningful leadership goals, promoting efficient collaboration with
others, and prioritising purpose above all else. These pillars have been impacted by crucial
personalities and transforming situations, which have motivated me to have a positive effect and
act ethically in all aspects of my profession.

Leadership Goals:
As I began my career, I had a clear picture of the type of leader I wanted to be. My leadership
objectives centred on empowering my team members, inspiring them to reach their greatest
potential, and building a collaborative environment in which everyone's contributions are
recognised. I aimed to lead with empathy, compassion, and integrity, knowing that true
leadership is serving people and fostering their development.

Throughout my career, I have sought out opportunities to stretch myself and learn new skills in
order to become a more successful and powerful leader. My leadership ambitions have stayed
anchored in the conviction that successful leadership resides in developing the capabilities of
those around me, from setting ambitious team goals to implementing techniques that promote
innovation and creativity.

Ability to Collaborate with Others:

Collaboration has always been an important aspect of my work ethic. I am a firm believer in the
power of varied minds working together to foster collective creativity and problem-solving. I
have actively sought opportunities to cooperate with people from all backgrounds, understanding
that each person brings a distinct viewpoint to the table.

Collaboration experiences, whether at work or in professional networks, have highlighted the

need of efficient communication, active listening, and mutual respect. I've learnt that genuine
teamwork entails putting aside personal agendas and focusing on common goals in order to
achieve greater success jointly.
What I Value Most in Work or Vocation:
I give purpose the highest value in both my professional and personal life. I try to work on
projects that support the things I believe in and benefit society. For me, a happy profession
entails finding meaning in what I do and having an impact on the lives of others, rather than just
being financially successful or receiving acclaim.
In my search for work that is purpose driven, I place a high value on chances that let me make
use of my skills and contribute to causes that are close to my heart. I try to enjoy and feel
fulfilled in every activity because I know that by being enthusiastic and committed, it will
encourage others to be the same way.

Influences on Leadership Goals, Values, and Purpose:

Many influences in my life and career have moulded my leadership objectives, values, and sense
of purpose. First and foremost, I owe a great deal of my sense of responsibility and integrity to
my parents' constant support and encouragement. They have inspired me to lead with integrity,
openness, and a dedication to having a positive influence.
I have had the good fortune to work with mentors and coworkers who have exhibited great
leadership traits throughout my career. Their advice and mentoring have inspired me to keep
learning and developing as a leader and have given me insightful information about effective
leadership.
My dedication to purpose-driven work has been strengthened by transformative experiences like
taking part in volunteer work in the community and seeing the transformative potential of group
efforts. These encounters have motivated me to support initiatives that improve the lives of
people, give sustainability priority, and make moral decisions.

Impact on Ethical Actions:

My ethical behaviour at work and in my profession has been significantly impacted by the fusion
of leadership goals, teamwork, and values. Transparency and fairness are my top priorities in all
of my contacts as a result of my dedication to empowering people and creating a collaborative
atmosphere. I aggressively work to develop trust with my team and stakeholders by remaining in
constant contact and respecting different viewpoints.
I am inspired to make moral choices that are consistent with my values and have a beneficial
impact on the larger community because I place value on purpose in my work. I am aware that
moral behaviour necessitates considering the interests of all parties involved as well as the long-
term consequences of my decisions. My emphasis on mission-driven work equips me to put
sustainability first and behave appropriately in the face of difficulties.

In conclusion, significant people, life-changing situations, and innate values have had a great
impact on my journey of leadership, teamwork, and purpose in my profession and vocation. In
addition to shaping my work, adopting these ideas has inspired me to lead ethically and aim for a
positive influence in all facets of my professional life. As I proceed on this journey, I'm devoted
to fostering cooperation, encouraging meaningful leadership, and living with a purpose because I
really believe that moral behaviour is necessary to make the world a better place for everyone.
