speaking, emphasis markers in persuasive texts, different forms of modals, reflexive
and intensive pronouns.

Standards The learner composes a short but powerful persuasive text using a variety of
persuasive techniques and devices.

Activity Family Bingo

Direction: Make statements by responding to the provided questions regarding


your abilities or talents. There are two bingo cards, and each student's name
corresponds to a number on these cards. To determine who gets the opportunity
to answer a question, a student will pick a number.

Questions:
1. What is your favorite ability or talent?
2. Tell us about a family member's ability or talent.
3. What is one thing you could do when you were younger that you can't do
anymore?
4. Which family member were you able to help the most with a task or activity?
5. How does your family member who is exceptional in a particular ability
typically react when praised for it?
