When the Lens is Round, Why the image is square ?

The camera lens projects a circular image onto the rectangular image
sensor. Light rays from various points in the scene pass through the
lens and converge onto the sensor. However, the circular projection of
the lens is constrained by the rectangular boundary of the sensor.
what is camera ?

a device for recording visual images in the form of photographs, film, or video signals.

Types of Cameras
There are more than 25 types of cameras such as
• Rangefinder cameras
• DSLR (Digital single lens reflex camera)
• SLR
• Movie Camera
• Action Camera
• Point and Shoot
• Camcorder

Type of lens
1. Spherical lens - Photo and Video lens
2. Anamorphic lens - Cinema Lens
1. Spherical lens: This is the regular lens you find in most cameras. It's simple and does
the job well, but sometimes it can make the edges of your pictures a bit blurry.
2. Anamorphic lens: This lens is special because it makes movies look wider and more
cinematic. It's like adding extra magic to your camera to make your movies look even
cooler.
Kit lens/Variable lens/Zoom lens: These are lenses that can change how close or
far away they can see, like a telescope you can adjust. A "kit lens" is usually the
basic lens you get with a camera. It's called "variable" or "zoom" because it can
vary its focal length, meaning you can zoom in and out with it.
Prime lens: This is a lens that can't zoom in or out. It's like having a pair of glasses
with only one level of magnification. Because it's simpler, it often gives better
picture quality, especially in low light.
Telephoto lens: This is a lens that can make faraway things look closer. It's like
binoculars for your camera. These lenses are good for things like sports or wildlife
photography because they let you get close-up shots of things that are far away.

Exposure is the amount of light that reaches your camera's sensor,

creating visual data over a period of time. That time period could be
fractions of a second or entire hours.
Under exposure photo becomes darker
Over exposure photo become lighter or white
ISO Shutterspeed

ISO is like a knob on your camera that controls how sensitive it is to light. If you're in a bright place,
you can keep the ISO low. But if it's dark, you can turn up the ISO so your camera can still see well.
Just remember, the higher the ISO, the more grainy your pictures might look.
or
Think of ISO like a light switch for your camera. If it's bright outside, you keep the switch low. If
it's dark, you turn it up so your camera can see better. But just like turning up a light too much
can make things look fuzzy, turning up ISO too high can make your pictures look grainy.
Aperture
Aperture is like the window of your camera. When it's bright outside,
you make the window smaller to let in less light. When it's dark, you
make the window bigger to let in more light. But here's the cool part:
the size of the window also affects how much of your picture is sharp or
blurry. So, changing the size of the window not only helps with
brightness but also gives you control over the sharpness of your photo.

Shutterspeed
Shutter speed is like how long your camera blinks when you take a picture. If something moves
fast and you want to freeze it, you blink quickly (using a fast shutter speed). If you want to show
motion, like a flowing river, you blink slowly (using a slow shutter speed). It's all about how long
the camera's eye stays open to capture the picture.
Rule of third
The rule of thirds is like imagining a tic-tac-toe grid over your photo. Instead of
putting your main subject right in the middle, you aim to place it along one of the
lines or at the intersections. It makes your photos look more balanced and
interesting. So, it's a simple trick to help you compose better pictures.

Golden ratio
, imagine dividing a line into two parts so that the longer part divided by the
smaller part is equal to the whole length divided by the longer part. It might
sound complicated, but basically, it creates a visually pleasing balance. In
photography, you can use the golden ratio to compose your shots by placing your
main subject or important elements along these proportions. It's like tapping into
a natural sense of beauty to make your photos more captivating.
