Percentage of national consumer expenditure by category – 2002
Country Food/Drinks/Tobacco Clothing/Footwear Leisure/Education
Ireland 28.91% 6.43% 2.21%
Italy 16.36% 9.00% 3.20%
Spain 18.80% 6.51% 1.98%
Sweden 15.77% 5.40% 3.22%
Turkey 32.14% 6.63% 4.35%
Answer:
The table displays the percentages of consumer expenditure for three categories of
products and services in five countries in the year 2002.
It is evident that the majority of consumer expenditure in each country was allocated
to food, beverages, and tobacco. Conversely, the leisure/education group exhibits the
lowest percentages in the table.
Among the five countries, Turkey and Ireland stood out with significantly higher
consumer expenditure on food, beverages, and tobacco, reaching 32.14% and nearly 29%
respectively. Turkey had the largest expenditure on leisure and education, accounting for
4.35% of the total. On the other hand, Italy had the highest expenditure on apparel and
footwear, which amounted to 9%, surpassing all other countries.
Sweden had the lowest proportions of national consumer expenditure for food, drinks,
and tobacco, amounting to almost 16%, and for apparel and footwear, which accounted
for little over 5%. Spain exhibited marginally higher statistics for these categories,
however, the lowest percentage for leisure and education was merely 1.98%.

Answer:
There is a belief held by some individuals that only a small number of people possess
an innate ability that enables them to flourish in areas such as sports or music, whereas
others do not possess this talent. On the other hand, there is a conviction that everyone
can develop the talents required to achieve such exceptional levels of success. This essay
will provide and analyse contrasting perspectives, followed by my personal viewpoint.
Certain individuals possess an inherent talent, which bestows upon them an additional
benefit. For instance, numerous study investigations demonstrate that individuals who
possess that advantage are bound to excel in contrast to their colleagues even prior to
fully utilising that potential. Various elements, such as genetic predisposition,
psychological composition, and an elusive innate attribute, contribute to their proficiency
in a specific trade. When coupled with years of unwavering commitment, it propels them
to the pinnacle, presenting them as formidable adversaries to others.
3
Conversely, some individuals have attributed significant value to sheer diligence and
asserted that it is the sole factor capable of altering one's destiny. For example, numerous
sportsmen or musicians, who initially had average abilities, achieved famous after
enhancing their skills via intentional and focused practice. This exemplifies that
allocating time to self-enhancement can foster self-awareness of one's shortcomings,
thereby resulting in refinement. When considering one's reach, it is a factor that can be
enhanced and controlled by an individual, leading some individuals to view it as the most
significant influence.
After considering the entire conversation, it is evident that both perspectives hold
validity. However, I firmly believe that a brilliant individual can outperform others owing
to their greater force multiplier in comparison to ordinary effort.

Answer:
The graph depicts the consumption of fish and three distinct types of meat in a
European nation from 1979 to 2004. Between 1979 and 2004, there was a decline in the
consumption of fish. Over time, there was also a decrease in the consumption of lamb and
beef, while the preference for chicken increased.
From 1979 to 2004, the mean individual fish consumption per week was 50 grammes.
Fish had lower consumption levels in comparison to lamb, beef, and chicken meats. In
1979, the consumption of beef reached its peak, with people consuming over 200
grammes per week. However, there was a shift towards increased consumption of
chicken. In 2004, the average individual was consuming around 250 grammes of chicken
on a weekly basis. In 1979, the quantity of lamb consumed by individuals was about
5
equivalent to that of chicken, amounting to 150 grammes. However, unlike chicken, the
preference for lamb diminished over time, resulting in a reduction in lamb consumption
similar to that of beef.
In 1979, beef was the most widely consumed meat while fish was the least consumed.
However, in 2004, chicken surpassed fish to become the most consumed meat.

Answer:
There is a belief that all individuals should get equitable punishment for their
offences. It is argued that it is crucial to listen to their viewpoint prior to making a
decision. What event or circumstance occurred to incite their actions? The next
paragraphs will discuss both ways, although I personally prefer the latter.
Promoting equality is frequently advocated as a means to enhance adherence to the
law, ensure fairness, and achieve equitable results across all socioeconomic categories.
6
Certain individuals exploit review systems as loopholes in the system. Moreover, this will
enable them to manipulate the system in order to get an advantage. Politicians utilise pre-
arrest bail, as an illustrative example. This feature aids in the prevention of system
freezes. Moreover, they employed this strategy to escape to different nations. In order to
ensure equity, it is imperative to implement a policy of zero tolerance.
It is believed that eavesdropping and evaluating consequences discourage many first-
year students from engaging in such activity. Providing counselling and offering
moderate assistance can deter crooks. The media documented a theft committed by a man
who had four famished children. As a result of the absence of daily pay employment, he
resorted to theft of fruits and money in order to provide sustenance for his children. Upon
listening to his narrative, the police provided him with nourishment and extended an offer
for a long-term employment opportunity. This demonstrates that even a small amount of
empathy has the potential to foster the advancement of civilization.
Ultimately, each perspective has advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless,
continuous legal system modifications can facilitate the identification and resolution of
challenges. This would undeniably enhance the quality of life in society.

Percentage change in average house prices in five cities
1990-2002 compared with 1989
Answer:
The bar chart depicts the relative fluctuations in the mean housing prices in the United
States, Madrid, Germany, Frankfurt, and the United Kingdom between 1990 and 2002, in
comparison to the year 1989.
In the period from 1990 to 1995, America, Japan, and London experienced a general
decrease in prices. However, from 1996 to 2002, the property rates in these places
increased significantly compared to other countries. Tokyo City has the lowest number.
Upon examining the chart data, it is evident that from 1990 to 1995, both London and
Tokyo had a similar tendency, with an equivalent decrease of 8%. New York witnessed a
decline of up to -5%. Nevertheless, the lodging costs in Spain and Tokyo experienced a
slight increase of 1 and 2 percent, respectively.
8
Continuing with the remaining facts, the average prices in London had a significant
increase of 11% compared to prices in other cities. America and Madrid both recorded
ratios, with America's ratio being 5 and Madrid's ratio being 6. In contrast, Germany
witnessed a decline of -5% in comparison to 1989, but, it consistently maintained the
lowest rates of flat rents from 1990 to 2002. Furthermore, Germany had few fluctuations
throughout the entire period.

Answer:
Worker well-being is significantly influenced by job satisfaction. In order to have
contentment in one's profession, it is imperative to engage in activities that align with
one's passions and contribute to the well-being of others. Regrettably, achieving job
satisfaction for every employee is unattainable.
The level of job satisfaction is contingent upon the degree to which an individual's
occupation aligns with their personal interest. Enthusiastic employees eagerly anticipate
9
their workdays instead of merely anticipating the weekend. They perceive problems as
chances for personal development rather as sources of stress. Despite enduring extended
work hours and encountering multiple obstacles, scientists are content with their
occupation.
The impact you have on others can significantly influence your level of job
satisfaction. Regarding software developers. Individuals worldwide can utilise the items
they manufacture, thereby enhancing their standard of living through the streamlining of
duties and the augmentation of productivity. How exhilarating!
Regrettably, not all employees can get a gratifying occupation. This is due to the fact
that a significant number of individuals exhibit resistance towards change. They exhibit a
preference for remaining in a job that they despise rather than acquiring new skills and
pursuing a more desirable occupation. They desire their employers to increase their
income and enhance their working conditions, while they make less effort to enhance
their own worth. They are limited to finding low-paying, physically demanding
employment that will never provide them fulfilment.
The congruence between an individual's fervour and their vocation, as well as the
degree to which their occupation enables them to assist others, are the primary factors
that influence job satisfaction. Regrettably, a significant number of individuals lack the
drive to critically examine and modify the existing state of affairs, resulting in not
everyone finding satisfaction in their professional pursuits.

Units of electricity by fuel source in Australia
Answer:
The pie charts show Australia and France's 1980–2000 power generation by fuel
source. Measurements use units. From 100 to 170 units in Australia and 90 to 180 units in
France, manufacturing increased significantly.
Coal generated most Australian energy in both years. Nuclear power replaced coal,
natural gas, and oil as France's principal electricity source in 2000. Australia generated
most of its electricity from coal between 1980 and 2000. Coal-generated electricity
climbed from 50 units in 1980 to 130 units in 2000. Hydropower generation increased to
36 units. Natural gas and oil production fell to 2 units each.
11
In comparison, coal, natural gas, and oil generated 25, 25, and 20 units of France's
electricity. Hydropower and nuclear power generated the remaining 20 units. In 2000,
Australia had 126 nuclear power units, a significant increase. This made nuclear power
the country's main energy source. Coal and oil production reached 25 units in 2000, but
natural gas and hydropower production fell to 2.

Answer:
Throughout history, there have consistently been conflicting perspectives regarding
the purpose of a university. In my opinion, the primary objective of education should be
to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the workforce.
Firstly, this provides businesses with a greater yield on their investments, and secondly, it
12
is the duty of universities to furnish employers with the specific calibre of skilled
individuals they require.
Initially, prioritising the alignment of higher education with workforce readiness will
enhance its value as an investment for students. If individuals have a desire to acquire
knowledge just for its intrinsic value, they have the option to engage in reading literature
or purchasing online educational programmes, which are quite inexpensive. Individuals
incur substantial student loans to attend university with the expectation that the
information and skill sets they gain would enable them to secure a lucrative occupation,
affording them a comfortable lifestyle.
Moreover, colleges, as crucial establishments of society, have a responsibility to
foster talent that aligns with the demands of the job market. The type of talent that is
highly sought after accurately mirrors the trajectory that society is taking. For instance,
technology organisations are currently vying for highly skilled individuals who possess
computer science degrees, since they require their expertise to advance emerging
technologies, such as virtual reality, to a more developed state. If universities fail to
provide the necessary skills to fulfil employers' aspirations, numerous industries would
see significantly slower progress.
Ultimately, tertiary education should strive to equip students with the necessary skills
and knowledge to succeed in the professional sphere. If universities fail to fulfil their
social role, they will squander the investments made by students.
