About R2 Energy, Inc.
We specialize in renewable alternative energy solutions, utilizing wind,
solar and waste conversion.
R2 Energy, Inc. provides expert engineering, fabrication and assembly of
fully automated, turn‐key, vacuum production and robotic systems.
Our history stems back three decades, combining the expertise
developed from it's original roots in 1965 of Precision Leak Detector Inc.,
in an emerging industry which provided design, fabrication and
servicing of high vacuum systems and components.
The vacuum expertise was combined with automation capabilities in
1991 by teaming with a group of former NASA robotic engineers who were
responsible for designing and manufacturing state of the art,
revolutionary, prototype equipment for the space program.
The current R2 Energy, Inc. provides unique engineering, design and
fabrication disciplines all under one roof. The combined staff allows
real‐time integration of the system design without adversely impacting
the originally planned delivery schedules.

R2 Chamber and Tooling Division
R2 Chamber and Tooling Division is located in Tavares Florida. This division occupies over 22,000
square feet and manufactures all required specific job related heavy gauge vacuum chambers and
components for our custom designed projects.
The manufacturing plant is equipped with the latest machine shop and welding equipment,
including the latest CNC equipment (i.e. mills, lathes, EDM, etc), state of the art inspection quality
departments and one of Florida's largest milling capabilities, which includes a 110 inch X axis
capacity, large swing lathes, blanchard grinding and surface grinding, horizontal boring mills and
all other related machine shop equipment
Our manufacturing processes, utilizes advanced technology, as well as the art of old world
handcraftsmanship.
We have the unique ability to make changes, improvements and control the turnaround time, which
is what sets us apart from any competitor.
We utilize a high speed, high volume‐digitizing system for scanning fine detail surfaces to:
• Reverse Engineer
• Recreate surface geometry
• 3D Digitizing parts and molds
• Surface data for import
• Precision digitizing parts for copy milling
• Develop NC code
• Conversion of scanned data into CAD surfaces
• Conversion of scanned data into tool paths

The gasification chamber has a bed filled
with heated sand.
There is a porous bottom, which allows air
to be forced through the sand, mixing the
bed and giving it a “Fluidized” like
behavior.
Fuel is fed into the gasification chamber.
The fuel can be wood, coal, tire rubber, MSW,
or other organic material but it must be
separated and shredded to approximately 1” on
all sides before being introduced into the
system.

The feedstock is inserted into the gasification
chamber and mixed with the hot sand. This reduces
the fuel to a combustible gas.
The volatile gasses are driven off to a hot gas
cleanup chamber which separates the ash.
The air flow is controlled so that approximately 10%
of the incoming fuel is consumed to maintain the
fluidized bed temperature.
This rate will be dependent on the specific fuel source.
Natural gas is required to initially bring the bed up to
temperature. After initial startup, no natural gas is
required. The feedstock provides the energy to keep the
fluidized bed at the temperature required to gasify the
incoming organic material.

Downstream of the gasification chamber, the gas
is filtered in a hot gas cleanup chamber.
This separates the ash content and sends clean
Syngas to the gas turbine for power generation.

Ash Disposal
The ash content is estimated to be 6% of the
incoming feedstock.
○ This will vary depending on feedstock.
There is a market for the ash in the water
filtration industry, potting soil mixture,
building material aggregate, etc.
Alternately, it can be land-filled, reducing the
waste volume to the landfill by 94%

Feedstock Requirements
The system requires approximately 1 ton of
feedstock per hour per MW of capacity
○ For example, a 10 MW system requires
approximately 240 tons per day of feedstock
○ This will depend on the heating value of the
specific fuel source chosen
Very flexible feedstock options
○ The system can utilize essentially any organic
feedstock, including MSW, wood chips,
agricultural waste, manure, coal, tire rubber, etc.
