English 7th grade The city worksheet 1

READING

I love my city. It has wide avenues, tall buildings, fantastic shops, cinemas, theatres, museums, libraries,
great monuments, good places to do sports and relaxing parks… the list is long! Oh, yes, it has a river too.
My family and I sometimes have lunch by the river in one of the street cafés.

In the city you may meet your friends in lots of places but my favourite is the shopping centre. I always hang
out with my friends there because we can do lots of interesting things.

Every morning I go to school by bus. Public transport is very good and it is usually on time. People should
use it more often. Of course we have traffic jams, noise, pollution and adults live a very stressful life
hurrying from one place to another. Besides I think the positive aspects are more important than the
negatives ones.

In the future I will be an engineer. I will build nice modern cities.

At the moment I am part of a team at school that is doing a very interesting project: a future city project. I
am enjoying doing this work very much.

Amy.
