PREFACE

In the ever-evolving landscape of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the ability to

detect anomalies is paramount for maintaining the integrity, reliability, and security of
these systems. WSNs are integral to a myriad of applications, ranging from
environmental monitoring and industrial automation to smart cities and healthcare.
However, the distributed and often resource-constrained nature of these networks
makes them susceptible to faults, intrusions, and unexpected environmental changes.

Traditional methods of anomaly detection in WSNs often rely on predefined

thresholds and manual inspection, which can be insufficient in handling the
complexity and volume of data generated by modern sensor networks. The advent of
machine learning (ML) provides a promising avenue for addressing these challenges.
ML techniques can automatically learn patterns from historical data and identify
deviations that may signify anomalies, thereby enhancing the robustness and
efficiency of anomaly detection processes.

ABSTRACT

The proposed project aims to develop a specialized chatbot that can respond to text
queries related to various Acts, Rules, and Regulations applicable to the mining
industry. The chatbot will use a Large Language Model (LLM) as its backend,
specifically the Llama-2 7B model, which is known for its outstanding results and
resource efficiency. The project will utilize a MongoDB database for data storage and
retrieval.

The chatbot will be accessible to users through an API or integrated platforms like
Telegram and WhatsApp. It will support multiple languages, making it accessible to a
wider user base. The chatbot will also have the capability to recognize and understand
previous interactions, providing a more contextual understanding of user queries.

The project focuses on ease of use, accuracy, safety, and resourcefulness as key
features of the chatbot. It will not only provide responses to user queries within its
knowledge scope but also log queries that fall outside its current knowledge for
administrator access. This feedback mechanism allows for continuous improvement
and expansion of the chatbot's knowledge base.

The research gap in this project is related to the lack of a dedicated chatbot for mining
industry regulations. The proposed solution aims to overcome this gap by providing a
user-friendly and efficient way for users to access information about Acts, Rules, and
Regulations related to the mining industry. The project also ensures data privacy and
user safety.

In conclusion, the project addresses a specific need in the mining industry by

developing a chatbot that can provide accurate and up-to-date information about
regulations. It not only serves as an efficient information source but also contributes to
the ongoing improvement of the chatbot's knowledge and capabilities. The future
work in this field may involve enhancing natural language understanding, expanding
cross-domain competence, and ensuring data privacy and user trust.
