PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Project Title: Swine Raising


II. Background/Rationale

 Hog raising is very popular enterprise or livelihood in the


Philippines such that there is proliferation of the backyard
producers, which dominates the swine industry and a healthy
viable commercial sector.
 Despite of crises facing the swine industry, still many people
are venturing in this livelihood. This manual hope to bring
appropriate technology to the interested farmers and would
be producers in order that they may realize profitable prod,
and improve their quality of life.

III. Project Objective/Purpose

 In general, the project aimed to gained profit.


 To find out the effects of swine raising in our local
community/society.
 To determine and enhance our knowledge and skills in swine industry
with the use of current technology and management practices.
 This project will be benefited to backyard swine raiser and also to the
youth organization to create Income Generating Project (IGP)

IX. Implementation Arrangement (Management/Strategy)

 Housing

For small or backyard operations cheap and locally available materials


may be used such as bamboo and nipa.

 Facilities and equipment

Provide the pig house with the proper equipment such as feeders and
drinking through.

 Care and Management Practices


Swine raisers must provide ample protection against diseases and fed in
accordance with their requirements.

 Feeding Management

The ration of the pigs should be changed at different stages of growth but
the shift one ration to another should be done gradually in order not to
upset the normal feeding behavior of the pigs.

Swine raiser always provide clean drinking water at all times.
