Chapter QUESTIONS
Sentences that stale something are called Statements.
" Sentences that ask questions are called Interrogative Sentences or Questions.
By changing the order of words, a Statement can be turned into a Question.
Question Mark or Mark of Interrogation (?) is placed at the end of an Interrogative
Sentence.
Read the sentences given below.
1. Mary is skipping.
2. Is Mary skipping?
Sentence 1 tells or states something. It is a Statement.
Sentence 2 asks a question. It is an Interrogative Sentence.
Now read the following.
Statements Questions
1. Iam younger than you.
Am Iyounger than you?
2. This is your new toy. Is this your new toy?
3. You are good in science. |Are you good in science?
|4. His grandfather was a soldier. Was his grandfather a soldier?
5. You were singing a song Were you singing a song?
6. You should have a bath every day. Should you have a bath every day?
|7. The Kumars will catch the Rajdhani| Will the Kumars catch the Rajdhani

8. They have done their homework.
Have they done their homework?
9. She has seen the film Spiderman. Has she seen the film Spiderman?
10. Dimpy can come to meet Ms Lal.
Can Dimpy come to meet Ms Lal?
To make Interrogative Sentences, we use Helping Verbs - is, am, are, was,
does, did, has, have, will, can, should before the Subject in a sentence. were, do,
