7 Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities (10)

Our Sri Indu Institute of Engineering and Technology encourages students to actively participate
in both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including various sports and physical
activities. Students from our department are actively involved in diverse activities, both within
and outside the college.

Co-curricular Activities:

As part of co-curricular activities that are conducted in the Institution, the following are the
events conducted by the Institution in the last 3 academic years

Every year, a cultural committee organizes an inter college fest to encourage students to
participate in performing arts. It brings out the hidden talents of student. Various events like
singing, playing musical instruments, drama, mimicry, dance, fashion show, DJ music etc., are
organized.

Extra-curricular Activities:

Adequate provisions for extra-curricular activities are available in the institute. At present,
facilities are available for Badminton, Volley-Ball, Throw Ball, Cricket, Basketball, KhoKho,
Kabaddi, Athletics and other Indoor Games.

Sports Physical Education: Department aims to prepare the students to maintain a physical and
mental well-being to face the challenges of life.

The department's objectives include:

 Encouraging sportsmanship and fostering friendly relations among students.

 Cultivating human and ethical values through sports.

 Organizing annual tournaments in various sports/games.

 Training students for participation in inter-college, inter-university, state, national, and


international level sports.

At the beginning of every academic year, principal conducts a meeting with committee members
for planning and conducting sports & games event. Based on the discussions, calendar of sports
events is framed and circulated among the departments to reach all the students.

AVAILABILITY OF SPORTS AND CULTURAL FACILITIES:


 The institution provides ample amenities to ensure physical education activities,
promoting the physical fitness and health of the students. Full-time qualified physical
directors and trainers have been appointed to oversee the day-to-day games and sports
activities of the institution.

 For organizing various cultural activities, the college has an auditorium with a seating
capacity of 400. The auditorium is equipped with modern facilities such as air
conditioning, a backup power system, Wi-Fi connectivity, an in-built modern sound
system, stage lights, and a stage projector. College has a spacious open-air auditorium
with raised platform and an open ground that can be used for both cultural activities and
official gathering.

 Students are encouraged and motivated to participate in various National, State,


University, and Inter-college level Sports and Cultural activities.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS):

The primary objective of the National Service Scheme program at Sri Indu Institute of
Engineering and Technology is to foster personality development through community service.
This initiative aims to instill social welfare values in students, motivating them to contribute
selflessly to society without prejudice. NSS volunteers are committed to ensuring that every
individual in our society receives the necessary support to enhance their standards of living and
lead a dignified life. In the process, volunteers themselves acquire valuable lessons on
perseverance and finding happiness amidst resource constraints.
