theme of technology and equipment. Let's start with a warm-up question to get us
thinking about the topic.

Warm-up Question: How important is technology in your daily life?

Sample Answer: Technology plays an integral role in my daily life, as it


facilitates various aspects of my routine and enhances efficiency. For instance, I
rely on my smartphone for communication, time management, and accessing
information. Additionally, technology aids me in staying connected with loved ones
through social media platforms and video calls. Moreover, it simplifies tasks such
as banking, shopping, and navigation, making my life more convenient and
productive.

Vocabulary:

Integral (adjective) - Necessary for completeness; essential.


Sample Sentence: Technology has become an integral part of modern life, impacting
every aspect of our daily routines.
Facilitate (verb) - To make an action or process easier or smoother.
Sample Sentence: Smart devices facilitate communication by enabling instant
messaging and video calls.
Productive (adjective) - Achieving or producing a significant amount or result.
Sample Sentence: Technology enhances productivity by automating tasks and providing
access to useful tools and resources.
Part 2: Cue Card

Now, let's move on to the Cue Card section. You will have one minute to prepare
your answer, and you should speak for one to two minutes.

One piece of technology that I find incredibly useful is my smartphone. It's a
device that I carry with me everywhere, and it serves multiple purposes in my daily
life. Primarily, I use it for communication; I can make calls, send messages, and
even video chat with friends and family who are far away. Additionally, my
smartphone functions as a personal assistant, helping me stay organized with its
calendar and reminder features. I also use it for entertainment, such as streaming
music and watching videos during my free time.

The reason I find my smartphone so useful is because of its versatility. It's like
having a mini-computer in my pocket, capable of performing numerous tasks that make
my life easier and more convenient. Whether I need to check the weather forecast,
navigate to a new location, or look up information on the internet, my smartphone
has become an indispensable tool that I rely on daily.

Vocabulary:

Versatility (noun) - Meaning: The quality or state of being able to adapt or be


adapted to many different functions or activities.
Sample sentence: "The versatility of this tool makes it suitable for various tasks
in the kitchen."
Indispensable (adjective) - Meaning: Absolutely necessary or essential.
Sample sentence: "His experience and expertise were indispensable to the success of
the project."

Navigate (verb) - Meaning: Plan and direct the route or course of a ship, aircraft,
or other form of transportation.
Sample sentence: "With the help of GPS, he was able to navigate through the city
without getting lost."

Part 3: Discussion

In this section, we'll delve deeper into the topic of technology and equipment
through a series of discussion questions.

Discussion Question 1: How has technology changed the way people communicate?

Sample Answer: Technology has revolutionized communication by making it faster,


more convenient, and accessible to a wider audience. In the past, people relied
primarily on face-to-face interactions or written correspondence to communicate
over long distances. However, with the advent of technologies such as smartphones,

on their devices.

Vocabulary:

Revolutionize (verb) - To completely change something in a significant way.

Instantaneous (adjective) - Happening or done instantly; immediate.
Sample Sentence: With the advancement of technology, we now have access to
