The first multimedia product I will be presenting has a gaming and entertainment purpose,
MINECRAFT. Minecraft is a game known in every part of the world for being a game for every
age range, made in May 2009.
The game is famous because it has learning purposes as well for little kids, like how to learn
where items like food come from and how to get minerals or how to breed animals. It satisfies
any range because it is a game where you can do anything, build, hunt, explore, create etc. The
main purpose is surviving and building your own world, you can either play a survival where you
can build your world with 0 items or a creative where you can get any item you want. Any
person can have fun paying but just using a bit of creativity, all it required to play is a
PC/PS/Xbox, internet and an account, you can either play online or offline.

this is the game interface from a player view, as you can tell it is in survival mode as it has 10
hearts on the top of the bar and 10 pieces of meat which indicate if you hungry or no, which
one they finish you die, under the hearts there are 9 boxes where you can put your items that
you collected

If you don't have enough space in your 9-box inventory you can open your bigger inventory, to
survive you can get items like armor and sword by mining, you will have to be careful at night
because you will be most likely to be attacked by mobs like zombies, skeletons, creepers and
spiders.
If you don't want to play alone you can play survival with your friends, or if you want to make
new friends you can play online with strangers and make new friends.
The game might look repetitive but the main reason why it has been so famous in the last 15
years is because of the large variety of things you can do.
An interesting thing about the game is that there are 2 more worlds called, nether (hell) and
end (void), you will have to create the portals to get in there, usually when you beat the end
boss it means you completed the game.
Minecraft has seasons that are called biomes, ice biome, desert, cherry blossom biome, jungle,
plane biome, swamp biome and mushroom biome, all different biomes with different blocks,
items and animals, but one thing all the biomes have in common is that they all have a village.
In Minecraft there are 31 mobs, but the most important are the ones that come out only in the
night, zombies that will attack you by walking towards you, skeletons that will hit you with a
bow, creepers that will explode once next to you and spiders that will attack you only at night.
Minecraft Strengths:
Minecraft allows players to express their creativity and imagination by building and exploring,
its educational for kids, teaches kids the benefit of teamwork, by working together you all can
build something that alone would be hard, improves creativity and imagination. It can be
played on any device. There is a chat available to communicate with players online. Violence is
minimal and encourages kids to be creative and curious. Files cannot be modified unless you
don’t have permission from the MOD operator. Minecraft has regular updates to always fix the
bugs or to update the items.

Minecraft Weaknesses:
Minecraft is not a free game, in fact you will have to purchase it from the play store if you are
playing on mobile or from the console shop, graphics are simple, and the world is limited size.
Minecraft lacks parental control, so if the kid goes in a multiplayer server some strangers might
say inappropriate content or get cyber bullied, so it is suggested to check on what server are
kids playing and with who you are interacting with.
Sometimes the server has issues letting your friends join your world, so all you can do is restart
the game or keep trying or try later to join the world, sometimes it might be your connection
Netflix
My second multimedia product will be Netflix, a streaming platform with over 200 million
subscribers, used in every part of the world to watch films, series, animes or cartoons, Netflix
was made the August 29th, 1997, with the purpose of entertain people by watching any film by
paying a bit of money every month which varieties by how good you want the quality of the
video to be.

Most of the people go for the standard one without ads which allows you to add people to your account
so they can use Netflix as well. There are different categories that you can choose to watch,
adventure/action/horror etc. Netflix offers you a kid's category as well made only for kids, made of
cartoons.

On Netflix there are a lot of features like unlimited ad-free movies (with the standard plan) and mobile
games, Ultra HD films and spatial audio, you can download on 6 supported devices at a time and can add
up to 2 more extra members.

You would need internet access to view any film, but you can download them before and watch it offline
a convenient way of watching films without internet.

More you use Netflix; it will collect the information and show you what you could like based on your
taste.

Before watching something new you will have a short brief about what you about to watch so you know
what kind of film it is, so you can choose to watch it or not, and once you start a film and don’t finish it
the same day you can always continue from where you left the day after without having to find where
you left it from.

If you don’t know many languages you can choose in what languages to watch the film, but sometimes
you might not find the language you are looking for, or you could watch it in the language it is made
with and watch it with subtitles.
Netflix Strengths:
Netflix has a massive selection of original programs to entertain you and a strong
recommendation engine and offers the ability of exclusive content.
Netflix has a rapid growth which means it will likely never die.
The company has a high compatibility, modifies its service based on the market and viewer
choices.
The fact that Netflix has parental control allows parents to check and control what their kids
can watch and what they can’t watch.
User friendly interface, the platform is very easy to use and navigate, the user can quickly
search the content they want to watch
Brand recognition, as Netflix has built a strong brand associated with the high-quality content it
attracts new customers

Netflix Weaknesses:
Low control over internet connection speeds, even though you have internet connection if it is
bad, you might have issue with watching your content.

Netflix has limited copyright, which means some of the film/series can’t be uploaded becayse of
the copyrights.
With rigid pricing, customers demand more content or more options for the price they are
paying for.

High content production cost, by producing original content it might be expensive for them
which makes difficult for Netflix to maintain profitability.
Conclusion (Comparison)
Minecraft is a gaming and educational multimedia, Netflix is an entertainment multimedia, both
have strong servers, and both need internet to be used, netflix has parental control but
Minecraft doesn't.
You have to pay for both to have access, but you can download on Netflix the films and watch it
and play offline on Minecraft, both multimedia are famous because of the names and are in
growth constantly, but you can buy more items like skins on Minecraft, where on netflix the
only purchase is the membership.
Minecraft is constantly updated to fix bugs; Netflix is not updated constantly unless it doesn't
have a server problem.
Minecraft is a creative game with the purpose of learning, Netflix is just an entertainment
Mulitmedia but with large variety of films.
You can play games on Netflix as well, but it is with the purpose of entertaining kids, but
Minecraft is a proper game with way more options of playability.
Target age for Minecraft is from 7 to 30, however Netflix age range is for everyone who wants
to watch something while relaxing.
On Netflix you can share your account and add people and use the website the same time, on
Minecraft only 1 person at the time can play with it.
