L&T is a major technology, Design engineering and LSTK contractor engaged in the growth of
the Hydrocarbon, Power, fertilizer and process industries with associated off site and utility
facilities.

Projects & Assignments Handled:

 EPCM service for Residue Up-gradation Facility (RUF) for M/s Hindustan Petroleum
Corporation Ltd (HPCL)
Residue Up-gradation Facility (RUF) is licensed by Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) with a
capacity up-gradation of 3.55 MMTPA
The selected bottoms upgrading technology is Solvent De-asphalting Unit licensed by Kellong
Brown & Root (KBR) with a downstream Slurry Hydrocracker Unit.
Hot clarified oil from FCC-I&II Blended with Vacuum residue feed from CDU-II &III and
Vacuum residue feeds from FCC-I,II&III.
Objective of the RUFD project is to convert Vacuum Residue feed into naphtha, treated fuel
gas, LPG, Stabilized Sour naphtha, Diesel, VGO

 EPCM service for Residue Hydrocracker unit for M/s Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
Residue Hydrocracker unit (RHCU) is licensed by Axens with capacity up-gradation of 2.5
MMTPA.
Clarified Oil from FCC & Indimax unit is blended with Vacuum residue feed from VDU.
Objective of the RHCU project is to convert Vacuum Residue feed into naphtha, treated fuel
gas, LPG, Stabilized Sour naphtha, Diesel, VGO

 Proposal Engineering for INDMAX Fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCC) for M/s Chennai
Petroleum Corporation Ltd with up-gradation capacity of 2.67 MMTPA

Roles & Responsibilities


 Plan and monitor process engineering activities.
 Review and approval of all Process Deliverables (i.e. Design basis, PFDs, P&IDs,
Philosophies and Narratives, Equipment and Instrument Datasheets, List & Summaries,
Hydraulic and Flare Analysis Report, etc.)
 Suggest value engineering options for cost optimizations.
 Interface with PMC (EIL) and Licensor (CLG/AXENS) as well as package vendors for critical
technical issues.
 Review of Process Licensor Package for inconsistencies, missing information and compliance
to Project Standards/Philosophies
 Monitoring project progress & outstanding issues and ensuring the quality & timeliness of the
deliverables; extending support to team members by proper guidance and sharing technical
know-how.
 Implementing EPC project plans within preset budgets & deadlines; performing site related
tasks including the design, specification & integration of specific works in various
environments
 Engaged in checking and approval of all process documents and providing process input to
other functional departments.
 Interfacing with all functional disciplines and responsible for planning / monitoring of Process
Engineering activities.
