Company Overview:
The manufacturing company selected for this assignment is “ACME Textiles” located in Karachi,
Pakistan. ACME Textiles specializes in the production of high-quality textile products, including
fabrics, garments, and home textiles. It has a capacity to manufacture 700,000 meters of fabric
and 1000,0000 Lbs of terry products per month. The manufacturing facility is equipped with
latest wrapping; sizing, weaving and stitching machines. The company has been operating for
over two decades and has established a strong reputation for its craftsmanship and attention to
detail. However, ACME Textiles is currently facing several challenges related to efficiency,
quality, and cost reduction.

AXME also provide a wide range of home textiles perfect for creating a comfortable and inviting
atmosphere in any household. Home collection includes:
Quality Management:
ACME Textiles’ current quality management practices are assessed. It is found that although the
company has some quality control measures in place, there is a need for improvement.
Strategies to enhance product quality and reduce defects are proposed, which may include
implementing Six Sigma or Total Quality Management (TQM) methodologies. These
methodologies can help identify and eliminate sources of variation, improve process efficiency,
and enhance overall product quality.
Quality management can be considered to have four main components:

Quality Improvement
It is the framework used to systematically improve care. Quality improvement seeks to
standardize processes and structure to reduce variation, achieve predictable results, and
improve outcomes for patients, healthcare systems, and organizations.
SIX SIGMA
Six Sigma is a methodology for improving business processes by identifying and
eliminating defects. Using Six Sigma tools and techniques, a company can identify areas
for improvement in product quality and implement effective solutions to address these
issues.

Manufacturing wastes can be reduced by using the 4rs of waste management.

Implementation Plan:
An implementation plan is developed to guide the company through the recommended
improvements. The plan outlines the steps, timeline, and responsibilities for implementing the
proposed changes. Potential challenges and risks are discussed, and strategies to mitigate them
are proposed. Furthermore, suggestions on how ACME Textiles can sustain the improvements in
the long term are provided, such as continuous monitoring, employee training, and fostering a
culture of continuous improvement.
R&D
In order to improve performance and production quality and to reduce costs and customer
satisfaction at ACME, it should have a Research and development department in order to find
the problems in the system and solutions for it. It will also help in finding gaps in the market and
to take advantage of those opportunities to get a competitive advantage over competitors.
Capacity Utilization
ACME should use it’s workforce in effective way so that they can improve their performance and
quality of their products and services. They must have enough workforce to satisfy their
customers demands well in time.
Maintenance:
ACME need to revise its maintenance system of its heavy manufacturing machines. The old
equipment needs proper and timely maintenance to ensure that process of textile
manufacturing in an efficient manner.
Collaborate with foreign countries on the operation and management of the textile
manufacturing. ACME should also try to get technical and financial assistance from foreign
countries.
ACME needs to frame a strategy for energy conservation, create linkages between industry and
university circles and make sure the availability of skilled manpower and establishment of
factory schools. So that they can have more skilled, knowledgeable and expert people.
Deliverables:
The comprehensive report includes all the above-mentioned tasks, providing a thorough
analysis of ACME Textiles’ production processes and recommendations for improvement. The
report is accompanied by process maps, diagrams, and visual aids to support the analysis and
recommendations.
