How to charge virtual credit cards

VCC user guide includes two parts, operation steps and common QA

1.STEPS

1 Inquiring VCC information


Trip Extranet
You can go to the 'Reservation' page and click 'Trip.com VCC info' near the
'payment'. Enter the query password to view details.

Reservation Email
You can find the VCC attachment in the reservation email, and enter the query
password to open the attachment.

Your Property Management System (PMS)


VCC information will be sent together with reservation notification, including
card number, CVV code, expire date, and amount.

2 Charge VCC
Enter the virtual card information in your POS machine, including card
number, expire date, and exact room charges.

2. FAQ

Q1: What if I lost the VCC password?


A1: Please click the Forgot password button, when inquiring VCC
information in Trip Extranet.

Q2: How much should I charge on VCC?


A2: Please check the ‘Payment Amount’ included with VCC information and
charge accordingly. Usually room rates, tax and service fee are included in
VCC payment amount. Deposit, othertaxes that should pay at hotel, all the
incidentals and extra expenses are excluded.

Q3: When can I charge VCC?


A3: It stated in the contract, generally VCC can be charged on guests' check-
in date and will expire 180 days after guests’ departure.

Q4: Why is VCC payment declined?


A4: You can go to the 'Reservation' page in Trip Extranet for Trip.com VCC
info on what went wrong.Here are some possible reasons:

Reasons Solutions

Insufficient funds You may overcharge the card limit. Please


check the ‘Payment Amount’ included with
VCC information.

The card is not active You need to try again after the latest
cancellation deadline of the reservation.

Invalid Expire Date Please check you are using the correct
expiry date.

Invalid Merchant Type Trip VCC can only be charged by merchant


configured as “Accommodation”. Please
confirm it with your bank.

Invalid CVC Please check you are using the correct


CVC code.

Expired card VCC will expire 6 months after guests’


departure.

Q5: What should I do if I don't receive the VCC booking attachment or there's
an error with the system?
A5: Please contact Trip.com for verification as soon as possible, and do not
take payment from the guest.
