DISCUSSION DISCUSSION

"Have you enjoyed the game

that Teacher Cyril presented?"

"Yes, Teacher."
"Okay, very good. Since you
analyzed all the photos earlier
with the clues given, I think you
are ready for our discussion
today. Are you ready to learn,
children?"

"Are you familiar with riddles or "Yes, Teacher."

"Okay, some of you might

friends and family or even [Students' answers may vary.]
played it with them, right?
Remember the clues that were
given earlier when you analyzed
the zoomed photos? Those are
an examples of riddles.”
“Let me give another example
of a riddle. (what has a neck but
no head?) what do you think is
the answer?”

"Okay, very good, that's right

because a bottle doesn't have a
head but it has a neck, right?"

"Okay, I think you already recall

what a riddle is, now let's define
riddle."
"Teacher, the answer is
'bottle.'"
"A riddle is a puzzle that
challenges our brain to solve it,
and it is also a statement or
question that makes you think
hard to find the answer. It
means they are tricky "Yes, Teacher."
statements or questions."

"Did you get it?"

"Okay, what is a riddle again?"

"Okay, very good. So now, let us

know the characteristics of
riddles so that we can analyze
whether it is a riddle or not."

"The first characteristic of a

riddle is that it is short and
concise, meaning it is a
statement or question written
in a short and concise sentence.
Did you get it?" "Yes, Teacher."

"What is the first characteristic "It is a puzzle or tricky

of a riddle again?" statement or question."
"Yes, that's right. The second
characteristic of a riddle is they
have indirect clues. It means
that in a short statement, it is
talking about the answer by
giving indirect clues. When we
say indirect clues, they are hints
about the answer, did you get
it?"

"If you get it, what is it again?"

"Very good, let's proceed with "Yes, Teacher."

the last characteristic. Riddles
have humor and they are
entertaining because riddles
engage our minds in a playful "The first characteristic of a
way." riddle is short and concise."

"Did you understand, children?"

"Okay, can someone give the

characteristics of a riddle?"

(Teacher will call someone to

answer)

"Yes, Teacher."

“Excellent! That’s right.” "It has indirect clues."

"Did you understand our

discussion for today?"
"If that is so, can someone tell
me what a riddle is? Just raise
your hands."

"Yes, Teacher."

[Teacher will pick one student

to answer] [Students will raise their hands.]

"Very good answer, you really
understood it well."

(The teacher will attach the

pictures of animals with their
names on the board. The
teacher will introduce them one
by one.)

"These animals are very curious. "Yes, Teacher, we did."

Inside them, they have riddles
but they don't know the
answer. Will you help them
answer the riddles?"

[Students will raise hands.]

"Okay, that's nice. Now let us
call Teacher Maryjoe to guide
you in answering the riddles "A riddle is a tricky statement
inside our animal friends." that challenges our brain to
solve it, and we use it to help us
think critically and for
entertainment."
DISCUSSION 2

“Okay, Good Morning Class, I

am teacher MJ.”
“Since teacher Jenna showed
you the curious animals earlier,
"Yes, Teacher."
I am here now to help you solve
their riddle problems. Can you
help them solve their problems?

“But first, let’s learn the use of

riddles.”

So, what is the use of a riddle?

Why do we play it? Because it
helps us think critically as it
engages our brains, and it can
be used in education, just like
what we are doing now but in a
fun and exciting way. Do you "Yes, Teacher."
agree that riddles are exciting
and fun?"

“So what is the use of riddles

again?”
