Q. No: 05: Essay
(B) Unity has Strength
Unity has strength is a profound phrase that encapsulates the power of collective action and collaboration.
When individuals come together with a shared vision and purpose, they can achieve far more than they
could alone. This simple yet powerful concept has been the driving force behind some of the most
significant achievements in human history.

Unity brings strength in numbers, allowing individuals to pool their resources, skills, and expertise to
achieve a common goal. When we stand together, we can overcome even the most formidable challenges,
and our collective energy and creativity can drive innovation and progress. Moreover, unity fosters an
environment of trust, respect, and open communication, breaking down barriers and promoting a sense of
belonging and solidarity.

Throughout history, unity has played a crucial role in shaping the course of human events. From the civil
rights movement to the fight for independence, unity has been the catalyst for change and progress. When
individuals come together with a shared purpose, they can challenge the status quo, demand justice, and
create a better future for themselves and their communities.

In addition, unity has strength in the face of adversity. When we stand together, we can weather even the
most turbulent storms, and our collective resilience can help us overcome even the most daunting
challenges. Moreover, unity promotes a sense of accountability, encouraging individuals to work towards
the common good and support each other in times of need.

In contrast, division and discord can lead to weakness and fragmentation. When we are divided, we are
more vulnerable to external threats and less able to address internal challenges. Division can lead to
conflict, strife, and even violence, undermining our collective strength and progress.

In conclusion, unity has strength is a powerful principle that can transform individuals, communities, and
societies. By embracing unity and working together towards a common goal, we can achieve greatness,
overcome adversity, and build a brighter future for all. As the African proverb goes, "Alone we go faster,
together we go further." Let us embrace the strength of unity and work together towards a better
tomorrow.

THE MILLER OF THE DEE

About the poet: Charles Mackay was born in 1814 and died in 1889. He was Scottish journalist, poet and song writer.

SUMMARY

Once upon a time there lived a miller beside the river Dee. He owned a mill. He enjoyed the
sound health. He worked on his mill. From the crack of the day till the sunset. He sang sweet songs along
with his work whole the day. The theme of his song was that he was not jealous of any body and nobody
was jealous of him. He was happier than the Lark. By chance, King Hal passed by the river Dee and made
out the theme his song. He asked him the reason of his being so happy. The miller replied that he owed
no penny, he loved his wife, friends and three children. The miller thanked the river Dee that ground the
corn to feed his babies and keeping him happy and debt-free. The King Hal said if he is true then his
mealy cap-is valuable than his golden crown and his tiny mill his valuable than his-entire kingdom. The
king also said that the people like miller are proud of England.
Q. No: 06: Application

To,

The Head Master,

School ABC.

Subject: Request for Arrangement of Filtered Drinking Water for Students

I hope this letter finds you well. As a student of [Your School Name], I am writing to
bring to your attention the importance of providing filtered drinking water for students within the
school premises.

Access to clean and safe drinking water is a fundamental right, and it is essential for
our health and well-being. Unfortunately, the water available in our school is not always filtered,
which can lead to various waterborne diseases and health issues.

Therefore, I respectfully request that you consider arranging for filtered drinking water
for students. This can be achieved by installing water filters or purifiers in the school's drinking
water sources, such as water coolers or dispensers.

I believe that this initiative will have a positive impact on our health and academic
performance. Moreover, it will also promote a healthy and hygienic environment within the school.

I would like to thank you for considering my request. I am confident that with your
support, we can make our school a healthier and better place for all students.

Obediently Yours,

XYZ
