1. Introduction

This user manual aims to furnish comprehensive details and instructions guiding applicants
through the process of registering their name and submitting applications for the courses
provided by CHRIST (Deemed to be University). Applicants have the flexibility to apply for
programs across any of the university's campuses.

2. Overview

The student online portal serves as the starting point for individuals aspiring to enroll at CHRIST
(Deemed to Be University), initiating their academic journey. To gain access to the system,
applicants are required to create login credentials. They can then choose the programme to
which they wish to apply and input the necessary information, including programme names,
preferred campus, and details about the selection procedure. Upon completion, applicants can
review the provided information, proceed to make the necessary payment, and, upon successful
payment, receive an email or SMS containing their application number. Subsequently, the
applicant may need to engage in the selection procedures, with the ability to track the status of
their submitted application at each stage through the online portal.

3. Intended Audience

This user manual is designed for student-applicants interested in enrolling in higher education
courses at CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

4. Accessing the system:

You can access the online application portal through the link www.applications.christuniversity.in
using any standard web browser, such as Firefox, Google Chrome, etc. You will be landed to the
page shown below:

5. Sign up to Register:

For creating a new user credential, click Register Here from the login page and you will be
redirected to the ‘Register’ page. You would be able to login to the application with login
credentials only if the registration process is completed. For initiating the registration process,
you must provide the details such as Name (As per School Record), Email ID, Phone No, Date of
Birth and Password. The rules for creating the password are given in the same page itself under
the password textbox. You need to enter the password again for confirmation.

Click Register and you will be redirected to email verification page.

Note:

• If the Email ID is not a valid one, then an alert will be shown and you will not be able to
proceed further unless a valid Email ID is provided.
• If the Email ID entered is already registered, then an alert will be shown “This Email ID is
already registered with us. Please use login option.”
• If you have already registered, then click Login and you will be landed to the ‘Login’
screen.

6. Email Verification

Enter the OTP received in your email ID, then click "Submit." Upon successful OTP verification,
the registration process will be finalized, and a success message confirming "Registered
successfully" will be displayed.

There is an option to resend the OTP if the OTP is not received or if the OTP entered is incorrect
or invalid.

7. Sign In:

Every user will have a unique login that is password-protected. To access the system, you need
to input your Email ID and Password.

a) Click Login button. Upon successful login, you will be directed to the Student Application
Form. If you enter incorrect login credentials, an error message will be displayed stating
"Could not find your account."
b) In case if you have forgotten the password, then Click Forgot Password option.

8. Forgot Password

You can use Forgot Password option to reset the password.

Enter the registered Email ID and click Proceed and an OTP will be sent to your registered Email
ID. You can enter the OTP in the respective box provided. Click Verify OTP and a success
message will be shown “OTP verified successfully”.

You will be able to enter a new password. The criteria for setting the password will be shown in
the same page and accordingly you can enter a new password. For confirmation, please enter
the password again in the ‘Confirm Password’ box. If the passwords don’t match, an alert will
be shown “Passwords do not match”. Click Submit and a success message will be shown
“Password changed successfully”. Once the password is created, you can login to the
application through the new password.

If you want to go back to the previous page, click ‘Back to login’.

Note:

• It is expected of you to input the OTP within the time frame shown on the website.
• If the OTP entered is wrong, then an alert will be shown “Email OTP entered is wrong”.
• If the OTP generated has expired, then you can see an alert “Email OTP is expired. Please
generate a new OTP”.
• If the OTP is not received or is input incorrectly or invalidly, there is a resend option
available; however, this option will only become available once the time limit has
expired.

9. Student Application Form

Upon successfully logging in, you will be directed to the application form. You will have access
to the 'New Application' and 'Application Status' sections.

New Application: To submit an application for a new programme.

Application Status: To view the status of the previously submitted/saved applications.

New Application:

Click on ‘New Application’ to view the list of applications which are currently in the “open” state.

‘Application For’ is a feature to list programs based on the degree. To select the programme
level you are willing to apply for (Undergraduate Degree, Postgraduate Degree, PhD), you can
select ‘Application For’. The programmes will be listed according to the programme level that
you have chosen. Programme details include Programme name, Offered at (Campuses where this
programme is offered), Open From (Date of opening of the application) and Open Till (Date until
which application will be opened) can be viewed. Any programme on the list may be chosen, and
you can apply for it by selecting the ‘Apply Now’ option. If required, a keyword search should be
used to narrow down the results on the desired application.

You can also search for a particular programme by using the ‘Search Programme’ feature.

You are able to select which columns to show and which filters to make accessible for you to view
by using the options labeled ‘Filter’ and ‘Column’, which are located on the right side of the table.

APPLY NOW - You will be taken to the programme selection screen after clicking Apply Now.

Application Status:

This section will contain all applications that have been submitted, including drafts. Details like
the Application Number, Programme and Status can be viewed/printed.

Successfully submitted applications will be assigned an application number and will be


highlighted with a light blue background.

Click Click here to complete the application to finish the application if it is in the draft state. The
application number will not be displayed for applications that are in draft mode. Only
programmes that are in the completed state will have their application number displayed.

If you have successfully submitted the application, you will be able to take print-out of it

together with a fee receipt. Click to take the print out of the application and you will be

able to download it. Click to take the print-out the fee receipt and you will be able to
download the fee receipt.

You can download and print the admit card directly from this page once it is generated by the
university's admission office, enabling you to participate in the selection process. You will
receive notifications when the admit card is available for download, and regular updates on the
application's progress at each stage will be provided.

Note:

• You have to fill and submit the application as per the timer set. You will be given a
reminder to save the details entered few minutes before the session expires.
• Logout option is available at the right side adjacent to the ‘Tab view’ feature.

Guidelines for downloading the Admit Card:

You will be able to check the status of your submitted application in this section and download
the admit card if it has been generated. If the admit card has been generated and is ready for
download, you will see it as 'Admit card Published'.

You can see information such as the Application number, Programme (first preferred
programme), Campus/Location, Selection process rounds and Status. If you have submitted
multiple applications, you will be able to see the status of each.

Click the icon ( ) to download the admit card.

In any case, if the admit card is regenerated as a result of any changes, you can download it
directly from this page.

Guidelines for downloading the Admission Card:

You will be able to see the final result status. If you have submitted more than one application,
you will be able to view the status of each application. You can view the information such as your
Application number, Programme, Selection process rounds, Date and Venue of the selection
process rounds conducted, and the Status of the application. If you are selected, you will be able
to view the link ‘View offer of admission’.

Note:

If you are Not selected or you are in the Waitlisted category, you will be notified regarding the
status and the link ‘View offer of admission’ will not be available. You will receive a notification
if you are not chosen or if you fall under the waitlisted category. You will be intimated regarding
the status change to Selected/ Not selected in later stages if you are in the waitlisted category.

Preview: On clicking the Application number, you may be able to preview the information you
provided when submitting your application, such as basic information, programme preference,
personal data, address and parent information, educational information, and so on. If
necessary, you can print this out.

Click here to print the application: There is a provision for you to print out the information you

provided when submitting your application. Click the print icon found just beneath the link
'View offer of admission'. You will be able to view basic details, personal details, qualification
details, parent and address details, and so on. In addition, the instructions are provided in the

same form. When you click the 'Download' option, the form will be downloaded to your
system. You can take print out the downloaded form.

Click here to print fee receipt: You may be able to take a hard copy of the online fee payment

transaction details. Click the print icon provided just beneath the link 'View offer of
admission'. You will be able to view the online fee payment transaction details. When you click
the 'Download' option, the form will be downloaded to your system. You can take print out the
downloaded form.

View offer of admission : This facility allows you to download and print the offer of admission,
which is required during the admission process. Click the 'View offer of admission' link. You can
view the provisional offer of admission letter, which will clearly specify the selection status as
well as the fee payment date.

The offer of admission letter will include general instructions on admission etiquette and the
documents to be produced during the admission process. Aside from that, you will have access
to instructions on how to pay the fee and move forward with the admission process. You have
to carefully read and understand the instructions provided.

Candidates Details: After thoroughly understanding the admission procedures, you may need
to enter the necessary information for opening a South Indian Bank account in the section
'Candidates details'. When opening a bank account, you must enter certain information, such as
your SIB account, Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, and so on. The 'Submit' option allows you to save the
information you've entered.

To proceed to the fee payment, click 'Proceed to Payment'.

All the possible fee payment options will be visible, including NEFT and online. You will be able
to see the Total fee as well as a thorough breakdown of the fees, including the Admission
processing fee, Programme fee, Scholarship amount (if available) and Net payable. The last date
for fee payment will be specified, and you are supposed to pay it by that date to confirm your
admission.

NEFT: If you choose NEFT as the fee payment method, you will see fee payment information
such as the Bank and Branch name, Beneficiary name, IFSC code, SWIFT code, Account type,
virtual account number, and fee details (excluding the scholarship amount). You must take a
print out the NEFT/RTGS bank account details, which you may be required to provide during the
admissions process.
Please make the payment at least one working day before the date you have chosen to process
the admission, as fund transfers often take 24 hours.

Online: If you select this option, the fee amount will be displayed, as well as the terms and
conditions, which you can check to indicate that you have read and understand all of before
making the online payment. When you click 'Pay Now', you will be redirected to a third-party
URL. A success message will appear. If you are using an international credit card or net banking,
you must click the 'Pay now (International credit card/Net banking)' button. You will have the
option to download the fee payment acknowledgement.

If the fee payment fails, you will be notified and you may have to retry it or choose a different
mode of payment.

Note:

If you need to know the conversion rate, simply click the tooltip ( ) located near the Programme
fee (applicable for foreign students who pay in USD).

Download Admission Card: The last date for admission process date will be specified, and you
are supposed to confirm the admission slot within the date mentioned.

To download the admission card, you may need to select a preferred date and time for
completing the admission process. The venue will be the same as the campus where you are
selected. You may need to choose an admission process date. When you select a date,
available slots will be displayed, and you may only need to select one. Clicking 'Download
admission card' will download the admission card to your device. The admission card will be
available for download, ideally in PDF format. If necessary, you can take print out the
admission card.

Note:

• You will be able to download admission card only when the fee payment statuses are
marked as successful and when the admission slot selection is confirmed.
• If you are a foreigner, you may not be required to choose an admission process date or
time slot, but you will be able to download the admission card immediately after the fee
payment.
• A notification will be provided to you in the event that the admission card is regenerated.
• You won't be able to view any details if you access this screen after the deadline for fee
payment. In this instance, when you click the link labeled ‘View provisional offer of
admission’, the notification indicating that the chosen date of admission has expired,
and you might need to speak with the office of admission in person will appear.

10. Programme Selection

The programme that you have selected in the previous screen will be displayed here. Select
your preferred campus or location. You can also select other programmes, campus, and
location that best suit your preferences.

You can choose to have your photo uploaded to serve as your profile picture. Press ‘Upload &
View’. You will be able to import files from your device, browse files, and upload photos

instantly. Dimension and format of the profile photo will be provided in the tool-tip .You
may mouse-over the tooltip for getting a detailed view of the instructions.

Click Proceed and you will be taken to the ‘Terms and Conditions’ page.

Exit- Close the application by clicking ‘Exit’.

• If you really want to get a tab view of the sections that you are supposed to cover in the
application form, toggle up the button ‘Tab view’.
• An asterisk (*) indicates that a field is required. You won't be able to continue if the
required fields are left blank; they will be indicated in red.
• In the event that you have already chosen the same programme, an alert indicating that
your application for the same programme is incomplete will be displayed, along with
instructions on how to proceed. You will be available with two options- Confirm and
Cancel.
If you would like to continue with the previously completed application, click Confirm and
you will be taken to the ‘Application Status’ section. You have the option to search the
relevant application that is still in the incomplete state. You can complete the details
that are required and submit the application.
Click Cancel if you wish to select any other preferences which you haven’t applied before.

11. Terms & Conditions

After selecting the programme, you will have a provision to review and accept the terms and
conditions for the programme that you have chosen.

After reviewing the terms and conditions, please ensure to mark each checkbox. Mandatory
checkboxes will have an asterisk next to them. It is therefore necessary that you check each
required checkbox; otherwise, you will be unable to continue. Click Proceed.

Back- To navigate to the ‘Programme Selection’ tab.

Save & Proceed- To navigate to the next section.

Note:

• Kindly accept the disclosures; on the contrary you will not be able to advance and a pop-
up window titled "Kindly accept the declarations below" will display if you have not
checked the required check boxes. Click Ok and the required checkboxes will become
available for you to check.

12. Pre-requisites

Prerequisites, which are often entrance exams, are a necessary component of meeting the
fundamental eligibility requirements of some programmes for application submission. Due to
the fact that the prerequisite may not be necessary for the programme you have chosen, this
section might not be accessible to everyone. In the event that this section is available, you must
fill it out.

Choose the appropriate eligibility test from the list. For certain programmes, you are supposed
to indicate whether you have attempted the entrance exam or not. Choose ‘Completed’ if
you've taken the entrance exam; if not, choose ‘Not attempted’. If you passed the entrance
exam, you must enter the following information.

Enter all the information requested, including the year and month you took the test, the marks
you secured, and your registration number. If you have entered a mark greater than the total
marks, then an alert will be shown “The entered mark is more than the total mark”.
Additionally, you can upload the test results. Press ‘Upload & View’ to upload the documents
from your device.

In this page, you can add your personal information. Choose ‘Citizenship’. You will have the
choice to choose whether you are an overseas citizen of India (OCI) if your citizenship is not
Indian. If you are an overseas citizen of India (Indian national living abroad), you can choose Yes
and provide the necessary information, including your OCI card number. If necessary, you can
also upload supporting documentation, though this is not mandatory. For more information,
please get in touch with the office of admissions if you have queries pertaining to the OCI
category.

If you are an Overseas sponsor or NRI, you may select Yes, and you are supposed to fill in the
details of overseas sponsorship such as Name of Sponsor/ Institution, Email ID of the Sponsor,
Mobile No. of the Sponsor, Country of the Sponsor and the related documents have to be
uploaded. If you are an Overseas sponsor/ NRI, you are supposed to pay as per the NRI fee
structure.

Depending on your citizenship and status as an Overseas sponsor/NRI, if passport details are
required, the relevant fields will be displayed. In such cases, you must provide the necessary
information, including passport number, date of expiry, and the country of issuance.

Also, you are supposed to enter other personal details such as Gender, Blood Group and
Mother Tongue, Religion and Category.

If you are Differently abled, you can choose ‘Yes’ and need to select the type in which your
disability falls and can upload the proof of your disability.

If you have Aadhaar card, please choose ‘Yes’ and you may enter the Aadhaar no. If not, click
‘No’ and you will be asked whether you have enrolled for Aadhaar. Select ‘Yes’, if you have
enrolled for it and can fill the Aadhaar Enrollment No. Else select ‘No’.

Add the details such as Country of Birth, State of Birth and Place of Birth. If you are finding it
difficult to find the state, then you can type it.

If you have achievements in Sports, then select the item in which you have competed and won
and select the level. You can also upload the certificates as proof.

If you have achievements in Extra-curricular activities, fill in the details of extra-curricular


achievements and you can upload the documents related to your achievements.

You can add as many achievements as you can using ‘Add More’.

Also fill regarding how did you know about the institution.

14. Address & Parent Details

In this section, the information related to the candidate's correspondence address shall be
entered. Candidates are required to fill in the correct information as the candidates will receive
communication based on the information provided.

Enter all the mandatory fields such as Address, Country and Pin/Zip Code, City/ District, and
State in both the current address and permanent address section.

If the country is selected as India and a valid pin code is entered, then automatically the state
and city will be shown in the respective columns. If the selected country is not India, then the
details such as pin code (zip code), city, state has to be entered.

You can view the preview of the address entered.

If your permanent address and current address are the same, ensure that you tick the checkbox
label ‘Is permanent address same as current address?’.

You are supposed to enter your parent details in the respective section provided for it. You can
enter the details of the parent's details such as Name, Qualification, Occupation, Mobile No
(Mandatory), Email ID (Optional), Family Annual Income, Currency in which the family income is
filled, etc. Also, you can enter the details of your guardian such as Name, Mobile No., Email ID,
Address, Relationship with the applicant, Address, etc.

Back- To navigate to the ‘Personal Details’ section.

15. Educational Details

Enter the mandatory fields shown in the page. You have to enter all the qualification details up
to your highest qualification level.

For class 10th and 12th, you can select your board and the qualification and fill in the details
related such as Board, Year and Month of Passing, Country, State, Obtained Marks, Total Marks,
Aggregate Percentage and Name of Institution. By providing the maximum marks and the
obtained marks, automatically the aggregate percentage will be computed and shown.

For the undergraduate qualification level and above, select University, Exam Name, Country,
State, Name of Institution, Register No. and Year and Month of passing against the respective
space provided.

If you have followed a semester-wise system, click Enter Semester-wise details, you are
supposed to fill the details shown below:

You are supposed to enter the marks against each semester and upload the documents against
each semester.

And if you have any backlogs which are yet to be cleared, then you can fill in the number of the
backlogs against each semester.

If you have followed a consolidated marks system, then you are supposed to enter the
consolidated backlogs.

In additional document section, you can upload the documents such as Consolidated Marks
Card, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate.

Back- To navigate to the ‘Address & Parent details’ section.

16. Work Experience Details

If work-experience is not required for the programme you selected, this section might not be
accessible to everyone. If required only, this tab is shown.

For some programmes, work experience is mandatory. In these cases, you are expected to fill
the work experience details. However, for some programmes, you will be asked to indicate
whether or not you have work experience. If you have work experience, then mark it as Yes,
and you will be prompted to provide more information about your work experience. You are
supposed to add the Functional Area, Employment Type (Full-time/ Part-time). Also, you can
add the details such as Name of Organization, Organization Address, Organization Contact No.,
Designation, From Date and To Date.

You can also upload the documents related to the job. If required, you can view the document
uploaded.

You can add on as many experience details as you like using the ‘Add Experience’ option.

17. Preview Details

From this page, you can view all the details of the application that you entered. You can also
view the documents uploaded in the previous section. You can also edit any details from this
page, if required.

will be highlighted in red. You must complete out all required fields by selecting the tabs that
are indicated in red.

You will be taken to the ‘Selection Process & Payment’ section if you have completed all the
required fields.

18. Selection Details

You will be able to view the details of the selection process rounds in this page. You might be
required to participate in multiple rounds of the selection process, including the Entrance Exam,
Group Discussion, Personal Interview, etc which will be determined by the programme you've
chosen. You have to fill in the details of the selection process rounds that are displayed to you.

Regarding certain programmes, the selection procedure might also take place outside of India.
If the programme you have selected allows you to select the selection process outside India,
you can choose whether or not you are willing to go that location. If ‘Yes’, you are able to

select your preferred dates for the selection process which will be conducted outside India. If
not, then you will be able to select a date from the available ones for the selection process
conducted in India.

If you are selecting the date of the selection process, you will see the venues that are available
for that date and you may select one from the list. While selecting the location, you will be able
to find out whether there are any seats available. When hovering over, if there are seats
available at the chosen venue, availability status will be shown.

In the event that you are required to attend two rounds of selection process, you will also be
required to select the details of the second round's selection process if you are asked to do so.

You have to acknowledge that you will follow the specified rules and regulations. You will be

19. Payment Page

You can start the payment procedure as soon as all the information is verified. The application
fee for the programme you have chosen is displayed. You will be able to view the terms and
conditions for initiating the payment process. The terms and conditions must be accepted. Click
‘Pay Now’.

Three alternatives will be visible to you for making an online payment: UPI, Credit Card, and
Internet Banking. Decide which payment methods to use.

In the event that ‘Credit Card’ is selected as the mode of payment, you must provide the Card
Number, Expiration Date, CVV/CVC, and Name of the cardholder. You will be able to pay the
amount by selecting ‘Make Payment’. There will be an alert displayed if the card details are
invalid.

If the payment method is ‘Internet Banking’, select a bank. Click ‘Make Payment’ and you will
be able to pay the amount.

If ‘UPI’ is the selected payment method, you can use any UPI app that appears on the screen to
scan the QR code. You must click ‘Show Code’ in order to unlock the QR code. You are able to
insert any VPA or UPI ID. To complete the payment transaction, click ‘Make Payment’.

A successful notification will appear if the payment is successful. Upon successful payment, a
successful the user will see the message "Your application is submitted successfully" and
receive an SMS containing their application ID. The resulting application form will be available
for you to print. After submitting your application, you will get an email and an SMS.

Note:

If your payment status is shown as ‘Pending’, you have 2 options. [1] Wait for up to 24 hrs for
confirmation of payment. Once confirmed you will receive an intimation through your email [2]
You can do a fresh payment.

In case of any additional payment received due to ‘Pending’ status, it would be refunded to you
as per your bank policy.

In case if you are submitting the application on the last day of application submission, it is
suggested that you make a new payment to complete the application submission.
