WHAT IS RACISM
Why are people racist
Racism is a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of
human traits and capacities and that racial difference’s produce
an inherent superiority of a particular race .People that
discriminate other people’s skin color they are called racist.
Racist means a person who believes in racism, the doctrine that
one's own racial group is superior or that a particular racial
group is inferior to the others. Various forms of racism are
practiced in most countries on Earth. In individual countries,
the forms of racism which are practiced may be motivated by
historic, cultural, religious, economic or demographic reasons.
Wars created sentiments of ultra-nationalism, ethnic pride and
racism. Racism is widely condemned throughout the world,
with 88 states being signatories of the International

Consequences of Racism
Racism shapes the live of Black, Asian and Minority
Ethnic communities in ways which are often invisible to
individuals from privileged groups. People of Color face
additional barriers in accessing housing, health care,
education and many more of the systems and
opportunities which white people take for granted.
Racism also affects people of color mental health, both
through experiences of discrimination, and the
internalization of narratives about their abilities,
appearance and self-worth
Causes of Bullying
They have emotional trauma.
They’re insecure.
They’ve been bullied.
They want to fit in or make themselves feel superior.
They enjoy the rewards they get from bullying.
Consequences of Bullying
Bullying can have negative outcomes on the physical,
social, emotional, academic, and mental health of the
victim. Some of the consequences of bullying also
includes: Depression, Anxiety, Low self-esteem,
Substance use and dependence.
How to stop Racism
Making Change in your community.
Learn more about the people in your community.
Welcome any newcomers to your neighborhood.
Speak up if you see racism in action.
Don’t blame people of color for being oppressed.
Acknowledge cultural differences.
Be open to growing from your mistake.
How to stop Bullying
Firstly, if you’re being bullied or see bullying happening, talk
to a Trusted Adult. Let them know what’s happening. You
shouldn’t have to confront a bully on your own. Adults can
help make sure that everyone is safe and can stop what’s
happening.
If someone is being bullied or is being left out, connecting with
other people can be a game changer. Even if it’s only one other
person. If you or your friends see someone who is having a hard
time finding people to sit with or talk to, extend an invitation
for them to join you. So long as you offer, that can be a big deal
– even if they say no.
The similarities of Racism and Bullying
Racism and racist bullying can include: being called racist
names or being sent insulting messages or threats having your
belongings damaged or having to see racist graffiti personal
attacks, including violence or assault being left out, treated
differently or excluded people making assumptions about you
because of your color, race or culture.
