Prizes - 3 Medals - Gold, Silver, and Bronze in all the age categories (U-7, U-9, U11, U13) for Boys
and Girls.
The top 6 Winners of the Tournament will receive a Cash Prize and they will not be considered for the
age group prizes. This will follow the concept of 1 player will get 1 higher prize only.
For Age group prizes, the player is eligible for his / her respective age group prize only and not for the
higher age group.

Analysis
▪ Analysis is not allowed in the playing hall.
▪ As long as the game is in progress a player may talk only to an arbiter or to his/her opponent
as permitted by the Laws of Chess.
Electronic Devices:
▪ Mobile phones, any electronic devices & Wrist Watches (all types) are not allowed inside
the tournament hall. If found, the player will lose the game.
Protest Fee
▪ Protest if any, shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs.500/-
Within 15 minutes of the occurrence of the incident.
School Campus decorum to be maintained throughout the tournament.
General Rules
- Reporting time will be 9:30am, followed by Inauguration at 9:45am and 1st round at 10am. Players
need to report at the venue prior to 9:30am to ensure smooth conduction of the event on time.
- Player should carry their Aadhar card, School id or any other government id for age proof. Which
maybe requested to show in case of any claim or doubt.
- Players are requested to carry a water bottle & a pen in the playing arena.
- Good sportsmanship is expected of all players and will make the event a more enjoyable
experience for everyone involved. Shaking hands with your opponent before and after a game is
customary.
- Players will not be provided with scoresheet as this event is in Rapid format, in case any player
wishes to do the notation, then he/she needs to carry a notepad/ scoresheet.
- All players should be present at the board at time of start of the round. Any player who is not
present at board until 15 mins from start of round will be declared lost.
- Saying check is not compulsory.
- For Castling, it is compulsory to 1st move the king and then Rook, in case rook is moved first then
castling is not allowed.
- Touch to play rule is applicable in the tournament, if a player touches any piece during his move,
then it is compulsory to move that piece.
- All the rounds will be back-to-back, please ensure to be always around the tournament hall.
- It is forbidden to distract or annoy the opponent in any way whatsoever. This includes talking and
repeatedly offering a draw.
- One Move One Hand – make 1 move with 1 hand only, next move can be made by another hand.
Even the clock should be pressed by same hand by which the move has been played.
- Resignation – If a player wishes to resign then he can do that by communicating to the opponent
and the Arbiter.
- Players must check their pairing before the start of the game and ensure that their opponent are
as per the pairing only.
- Player should maintain silence and decorum in the tournament hall at all the times.
- Players should not leave the tournament hall without permission of tournament officials.
- Any Rule that is not covered here, FIDE rules should be applicable in such case. Please refer fide
handbook for any such queries.
- Illegal Moves – Below are counted as illegal moves, for 1st illegal move player will get 1 min
penalty and 2nd illegal move by same player in a game will impact in losing the game by the
player. Player needs to claim the illegal move to arbiter every time to have it considered.
a. If any piece is moved incorrectly then it is an illegal move, only after pressing the clock the
illegal move is considered (this also includes leaving king under attack, etc.)
c. Promoting the pawn and pressing the clock without replacing it with a piece
Any doubts in above points can be raised and discussed during Arbiter’s briefing.
