House Design Justification
The house plan drawn to scale shows a 170mm by 120mm bungalow
single story house with a pitched roof. Majority of the interior walls are painted in
an off white in order to make the house feel a little more spacious, comfortable
and clean. The house has 1 dining room, 1 living room, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen and
2 bedrooms which can accommodate 1-4 persons comfortably with more than
enough space. It was drawn in such a way that there is a lot of space in the house
and majority of the space being in the center of the house going up to the dining
room.
The house has exactly 2 entrances, the front one at the north and the
back one at the south. The kitchen is situated in the north-west corner of the
house near the dining room with a wall enclosing the kitchen and a doorway to
enter. The dining table is situated near to the kitchen mainly because of its
benefits to eating close to the kitchen such as saving time and convenience.
In the south-west corner of the house is the living room, which has 2
sofas and a coffee table in the center of the room. This room has many windows
in order to provide good ventilation and enough day light as the family will spend
most of their time in the living room.
Both bedrooms are located on the east side, one in the north-west
corner and another in the south-west corner of the building in order to keep the
cool breeze flowing in steadily as the breeze generally blows in an east to west
direction. One bedroom has a queen-size bed with 2 double hung windows and a
27 by 47-inch table with a small chair. Whereas the master bedroom has a king-
size bed with 2 double hung windows and a 27 by 47-inch table and an office chair
along with a closet. Each bedroom has a nightstand and one of the rooms is
painted blue and the other in a purple.
The house was designed to accommodate 1-4 persons therefore 1
bathroom should be sufficient. The bathroom is located on the west of the south
entrance between the 2 bedrooms which has a door facing the living room space.
It contains of 1 sink, 1 shower, a cabinet with a mirror, a bathtub, and a toilet.
