Twilight Book Review

Twilight is a series of four vampire-themed fantasy romance novels written by American

author Stephenie Meyerv. Twilight was published in 2005 and was translated into 38 different
languages around the world, later the novel has been adapted into series and film in 2011-
2012. As Meyer has stated, each of the four novels in the original series owes a debt to a
literary classic: Twilight takes its inspiration from Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen; New
Moon is inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet; Eclipse draws influence from
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë; and Breaking Dawn is inspired by Shakespeare's
Merchant of Venice and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
But I have read only the first book which is called Twilight. Twilight is an original story which
interested me a lot because it tells about a love story between two 'people' from a human world
and a vampire world whose relationship is a typical and special one.
The novel talks about a teenage girl 'Bella Swan' who moves with her father from Arizona to
a small town in Washington, she meets at the school. 'Edward Cullen 4 a handsome but
mysterious teen whose eyes seem to peer directly into her soul, and falls in Love with him,
later she discover a mysterious and deadly secret that is Edward and his family are vampires
and not human like Bella. This leads her into big danger, first from Edward, who must master
his intense desire to drink her blood if she is to live, and then from other vampires who are not
as moral or civilized as Edward and his family. Bella and Edward's adventure leads them to
continuous danger and struggles and conflicts, but their love for each other is strong enough
that it allows them to overcome all the obstacles fate throws their way. This story taught me
that true love is something that really lasts forever.
The story line goes in a clear way and it lures me a lot to know about how the next step goes
to. My favourite part of the book is the chapter 23 which called The Angel
Bella thinks she's dead because in previous chapter James almost killed her. But she hears an
"angel" (Edward) speaking to her: "Bella, Bella, no, oh please, no, no!"
Carlisle says that she's broken her leg and some ribs. He's working on stopping her bleeding.
Edward realizes that James bit Bella's hand. She's in terrible pain as the vampire venom starts
spreading through her body.
Carlisle says that there is still a way for Edward to save Bella from transforming into a
vampire: he can suck the venom-infected blood out of her body.
But Edward says that he doesn`t know if he can do that. he was afraid of temptation. But he
did it and save her life, so she remain the human. And it amazed me.
Twilight is simply and beautifully written book. The descriptions of Forks leave you feeling
like you can almost smell the damp air and hear the rain falling on the roof.
I also watched the film a couple years ago and I noticed some differences between the book
and the movie. For example, in the book, Bella moves to Forks, Washington, and starts school
in January. In the movie, her move and start dates to March, in order to compact the events of
the plot to two hours.
In the book, the Cullens try to blend in with the humans, but mostly fail, since they're a group
of super-beautiful orphans who are all dating each other. The movie has them stand out even
more, by having them wear a family crest on a piece of jewelry that screams "cult" even more
than their identical features and odd behavior do. There's no mention of these matching jewelry
pieces anywhere in the books. In the film, each member of the Cullen family prominently
wears a version of the family crest at all times.
In the book, Edward writes a song for Bella called "Bella's Lullaby." There is a song on the
Twilight movie soundtrack, but it's never referred to by name in the movie, and Edward doesn't
mention writing this song for Bella.
Book often has more space to offer up character backstories. In the novel, listeners get Carlisle
and Alice's backstories, but they are never mentioned in the movie.
Twilight shows many morals and values that are present throughout our life. One of the most
prominent morals is that love changes who a person is forever. Their love has managed to
change both physically, emotionally, and mentally. Edward becomes a happier and more
emotional person, while Bella becomes more feminine on a journey of self-discovery, so this
is the reason of my love for Twilight novel because it gives the reader a true love story with a
bit of the unusual moments.
