Drafting &  Open AutoCAD Plant 3D from desktop .

Annotation  Then open the project or create new project (refer project creation
document).
 After the Project is created For Drafting & Annotation setup by using this
pulldown button.
 More or less all AutoCAD tools applicable here.

 In Drafting & Annotation we have the tabs like Home, Insert, Annotate,
Parametric, View, Manage, Output, Add-ins, Collaborate, Express tools,
Featured Apps, Ortho View, Layout

1.New Drawing  In Project manager we can create new drawing from “Orthographic
Creation Drawings” for Drafting & Annotation otherwise we can directly change
“Drafting & Annotation” from “Plant 3D Drawings”.

1.1. Home  In “Home” tab, we have Tools as same as AutoCAD 2D.

Common Commands using:


L – LINE (To create line)
PL – POLYLINE (To create Polyline)
C – CIRCLE (To create Circle)
A – ARC (To create Arc)
E – ERASE (To Erase objects)
REC – RECTAGLE (To create Rectangle)
POL – POLYGON (To create Polygon)
CO - COPY (Copy an object)
CHA - CHAMFER (Chamfer between 2 non-parallel lines)
DI - DIST (Check a distance)
EX - EXTEND (Extend a selection)
F - FILLET (Draw an arc between 2 intersecting lines)
FI - FILTER (Opens filter dialogue box)
H - HATCH (Opens hatch and gradient dialogue box)
J - JOIN (Joins 2 objects to form single object)
LA - LAYER (Opens layer manager)
M - MOVE (Move a selection)
MA - MATCHPROPERTIES (Match properties of an object)
ME - MEASURE (Inserts point node at input distance)
O - OFFSET (Offset a selection)
PR - PROPERTIES (Opens properties dialogue box)
RO - ROTATE (Rotate a selection)
TP - TOOLPALETTES (Displays tool palette)

TR - TRIM (Trim a selection)
U - UNDO (Undo last command)
UN - UNITS (Opens units dialogue box)
X - EXPLODE (Explode a selection)
XR - XREF (Opens x-reference manager)
Z - ZOOM (Zoom in display)

1.2. Parametric  In “Drafting & Annotation” go to “Parametric” some Constrains tools are
there like Inventor.

 Coincident Constrain : To join two objects based on points.

 Collinear Constrain : To make same path line.

 Concentric Constrain : To place the same Cener point for the different
located circle.

 Fix : To fix the objects based on point. Once fix we cant even move the
object.

 Parellel : To make the lines parellel.

 Perpendicular : To make the line into Perpendicular.

 Horizontal : To make the line into horizontal.

 Vertical : To make the line into Vertical.

 Tangent : To place based on Tangent point.

 Smooth : To join two smooth curves.

 Symmentric : To make lines to symmetric.

 Equal : To make unequal line into equal.

1.3. Ortho view  In Ortho view, we have some view creation tools also BOM, Ortho
Annotation, BOM Annotation are there.

1.4. Layout
 In layout space we have some View creation like Projected view,
Detailed view, Section view like Inventor.

 All Insert, Annotate, View, Manage, Output, Add-ins, Collaborate,


Express tools, Featured Apps are common for all.
