From Theory to Practice: Exploring the chemistry lab in Al-hiddayah international School.

Introduction:

In the heart of Al-hidaayah International School lies a realm where science comes alive: the
chemistry laboratory. This vibrant space is not just a room filled with equipment but a
cornerstone of discovery and learning, to meet the exacting standards of the Cambridge
curriculum. Here, students embark on a journey of exploration, view changes in matter and
acquire scientific skills in an atmosphere that ignite their passion for science.

Historical Perspective of Laboratory:

The first teaching laboratory in chemistry in Britain was established by Thomas Thomson in the
University of Edinburgh in 1807. In 1819, he introduced this to the University of Glasgow, when
he joined this University. In 1824, Liebig established a Chemistry Laboratory at the University
of Giessen. This was a most exciting period of the nineteenth century. Liebig’s was the first
institutional laboratory in which students were deliberately trained for membership of a highly
effective research school.

Entering the Laboratory:

Stepping into our Al-hidaayah international school chemistry lab is like entering a world of
endless possibilities. The room is meticulously organized, with rows of pristine glassware and
shelves brimming with chemicals, each vial holding the potential for discovery. From the
moment students don their lab coats and goggles, they become young scientist, ready to embark

investigational skills.
