❖ Fresno as a non-discrimination city


~ Fresno, California became the second city in America to ban caste discrimination. But
Seattle became the first city in February (2023).
~ The Fresno City Council passed a resolution banning caste discrimination with two new
categories of protection.

❖ Mohammed Maijnu's victory in Maldives presidential election


~ In the Maldivian presidential election, Mohammed Maijju got 54.04%. Won with votes.
~ On November 17, Maijju was sworn in as the new president.
~ As none of the 8 presidents who contested the election in early September got more than
50% of the votes, the election was held again on September 30.

❖ A successful nuclear-powered cruise missile


~ Russian President Vladimir Putin has revealed that they have successfully tested a new
nuclear-powered cruise missile.
~ They also said that there is a possibility of withdrawing from the international treaty related
to the prohibition of nuclear weapons tests.

❖ Israel - Palestine War


~ Palestinian militant organization Hamas launched attacks on Israel. Thousands of rockets
were fired from Gaza on the Jewish holiday, and dozens of armed militants crossed the
border into Israel. Haman burst forth from earth, sky, and sea at once.
~ To counter this, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords. Israeli warplanes have targeted
Hamas positions in Gaza.
~ On the other hand, Hezbollah militants in Lebanon stood in support of Hamas.
~ But an agreement was reached between the ruling and opposition parties to form Israel's
wartime emergency unity government.

❖ Christopher Luxon as Prime Minister of New Zealand


~ National Party leader and former businessman Christopher Luksana won more than 40%
of the votes and took over as Prime Minister in New Zealand. He will form a new government
with ACT Warty.

❖ Tallest Ambedkar statue outside the country


~ The highest Dr. outside India. A statue of B.R. Ambedkar was erected in Akokick,
Maryland, USA. This 19 feet statue named Samata Vigraham (Statue of Equality) was
invented by Ambedkar Buddhism. Ram Sutar, the famous sculptor who designed the Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel statue in Gujarat, made the statue.

❖ Daniel Noboa as president of Ecuador


~ Young businessman Daniel Noboa has been elected as the new president of Ecuador.
~ In the mid-term elections, he won against his leftist opponent, Gonzalez.

❖ Brazil's resolution that was blown in the UN Security Council


~ The vote was held on the resolution introduced by Brazil in the United Nations Security
Council to stop the Israel-Hamas war and help with humanitarian aid in Gaza.
~ Britain and Russia are far from voting as 12 countries support Brazil's resolution. The
resolution was defeated when America, which was already supporting Israel, used its veto.

❖ Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson


~ Mike Johnson was elected as the Speaker of the US House of Representatives. He was
elected from Louisiana on behalf of the Republican Party.

Indians do not need visa: Thailand


~ To promote the tourism sector, the Government of Thailand has allowed the citizens of
India and Taiwan to visit their country without a visa for 30 days.
~ This relaxation will be given from November 10 - May 10, 2024. Last month, Thailand
granted visa exemption to tourists coming from China.
~ A few days ago Sri Lanka also decided to allow tourists from 7 countries including India to
visit without visa.

~ The Tejas Twin Seattle, a light combat aircraft (LCA) manufactured by Hindustan

❖ Center ban on JKDFP


~ Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) of separatist Shabir Shah has been
banned by the central government for 5 years.
~ Center imposed this ban because of anti-India and pro-Pak activities.

❖ "Operation Ajay" to evacuate Indian citizens from Israel


~ In the wake of the Israel-Palestine war, the central government started "Operation Ajay" to
evacuate Indians trapped in Israel to India.
~ The first flight carrying Indian citizens arrived in India on October 12.

❖ Supreme Court – IIT Madras Agreement


~ DA memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Supreme Court and
IIT Madras to transform the Indian judicial system through digitization and improve access to
justice.
~ Supreme Court - IIT will work together on AI, translation using advanced technologies,
codification of transcripts, broadcasting of court proceedings.

❖ Mera Yuva Bharat


~ The Central Government has decided to establish an autonomous platform named "Mera
Yuva Bharat" (My Bharat) to bring together Indian youth from all over the world.

❖ After 40 years ferry between India and Sri Lanka started


~ A passenger ferry between Nagapattinam Harbor in Tamil Nadu and Gangeson Thurai
Harbor in Sri Lanka has started. This service was canceled during the war in Sri Lanka and

~ Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the inauguration of this service virtually.

❖ Launch of web portal on Chandrayaan-3


~ Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched a special web portal named

❖ Supreme Rejects Legalization of Same-Sex Marriage


~ The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court unanimously refused to legalize same-sex
marriages under the 'Special Marriages Act'. In order to do such a thing, it has been clarified
that only the Parliament has the scope to change the law accordingly. ~ Three judges ruled
in favor of same-sex couples' right to adopt children, with two dissenting.
~ However, 21 petitions seeking recognition of same-sex marriages were filed after the
Supreme Court declared homosexuality decriminalized on September 6, 2018.

❖ Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy


~ The President's office has issued an order appointing senior BJP leader Nallu Indrasena
Reddy from Telangana state as the Governor of Tripura.
~ Until now the Governor of Tripura was Satyadev Narayan Arya from Bihar.
~ He was administered the oath by Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Justice Aparesh
Kumar Singh in a function held at Indrasena Reddy Raj Bhavan on October 26.
On the other hand, the President issued an order appointing former Jharkhand CM
Raghubar Das as the Governor of Odisha.

❖ India ranks 47th in internet speed


~ Internet speed in India increased by 3.59% after the launch of 5G services.
~ With this, India's position has gone up 72 places from 119th to 47th place, Ookla said.
~ Along with neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, India's position
is significantly better than some of the G20 countries.

❖ India's growth rate to 6.3% in 2023-24


~ The World Bank has maintained India's growth rate forecast at 6.3% for the current

~ iThe Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that Arindam Bagbi has been appointed as
India's permanent representative in the Rajya Samithi, replacing Ruchira Kamboj. He has
been the spokesperson of the Department of External Affairs for many years.

❖ Madhava Rao as CMD of BDL


~ A. Madhavrao has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of
Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) in the defense sector. He will hold the post for ~ 3 months or
until a replacement is appointed.

❖ Vani Sarraju Rao as Indian Ambassador to Italy

~ Pierre Augusti, Ferenc Crouse, and Yann L'Heulier, who discovered the motion of
electrons in atoms, have been selected for the Nobel Prize in Physics this year.
~ Yann L'Hulier became the 5th woman to win the Nobel Prize in Physics.

❖ Three Nobel Prizes in Chemistry


~ Maungi Bawendi, Louis Brus, and Alexey Ekimov were awarded the Nobel Prize for their
extensive research on "quantum dots", which paved the way for revolutionary developments

❖ Nobel for Norwegian author Fosse


~ The Nobel Literature Prize Committee has announced that Norwegian author Yone Fosse
will be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature this year.

❖ Peace Nobel for women's rights struggle in Iran

~ The Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to Claudia Golden, a leading economic
historian, who rationally analyzed the reasons behind the backwardness of women in the

❖ Bird flu control with genetic modification


~ CoResearchers at Imperial College London say genetic modification could prevent the
spread of Burt's flu in years.

❖ Water and carbon in the Bennu planet fragment


~ NASA revealed that there are traces of water and carbon in the fragment of planet Bennu
that was brought up from space.

❖ Psyche will uncover a "metal mine" in the universe


~ The American space agency NASA has sent a spacecraft named Psyche to Ninggi to
investigate a rare asteroid rich in precious metals.
~ The launch was carried out from the Space Launch Center at Cape Canaveral by a rocket
belonging to Spacex. It will reach the asteroid “16 Psyche” in 2029.
