3.4. Digital filter for DMS (strain gauge) load cell
The adaptable memory filter on the basis of the filter theory according to
Kalman provides for low damping in the event of load changes and high
damping in case that steady loads are involved. By adjusting the four
parameters kalan, kalen, pd_nm and pd_ds, the filter may be used for diverse
applications, i. e.
− normal operation: static, dynamic and in-motion weighing
− special operation: filling

SCALE ADJUSTMENT MENU ST/ST-Ex Service menu
The balancing procedure serves to set the weighing range and to determine
the calibration curve points for the analog-digital converter. The adjusting
procedure is to take place with the scale connected.
Each adjusting procedure is to be carried out with great care.
Prior to the activation of the adjustment menu, the calibration jumper X9 must
be removed.
While adjusting is active, the line segments of the display will flash/rotate.
Adjusting may be terminated after the determination of the first calibration curve
point and a simultaneous setting of amplification.
After completion of the adjustment menu, plug the calibration jumper X9.
The order of the weight values for the 6 possible calibration curve points may
be freely selected.
Most reliable results are achieved when all 6 calibration curve points are
adjusted inclusive of ZERO and NOMINAL LOAD.
While adjusting is active, vibrations and load changes of the scale must be
avoided.
The filter settings of steps X40, X41 and X42 apply equally to the adjusting
procedure.
