 PART – 1: Locating VU Official student email id

Note: you should only complete your assignment by enrolling through VU Official student email id in
the class created by instructor. If you complete the same course with any other id you won’t be able
to obtain certificate from us.
Part 1:
Login to your VU official email id on www.gmail.com & locate email from cisco networking team.
If you don’t know your VU official student email id. You can locate it at your VULMS. Otherwise please
move to part 2.
• Just login to VULMS.
• At top right corner click on your profile
• You can locate official email below your picture
• A Screenshot from demo account is attached below.
 PART – 1.1: Reset Password for VU Official student email id
Note:If you forget password of your official VU Student email id. Then please follow following steps. Otherwise
please move to part 2.

• Please go to vulms.vu.edu.pk
• Click on forget password
• Please Enter your student id & Personal email address
• Select VU Email password from the choices below as shown in the picture below
• Then click on send. You ll receive a password reset link on your personal email address.
• Then reset your password & login to www.gmail.com & Locate email from cisco networking
team to activate your account.
 PART – 1.2: Resend Expired Activation link Through netacad

Note: if your joining token from cisco networking team is expired. please follow following steps.
Otherwise please move to part 2.

• Please go to www.netacad.com
• Hover your cursor to login you ll see a drop down menu.
• Please select Resend activation email.
• Then Mention your VU official email id and click send activation email.
• Now check your VU official email id inbox and locate new joining token from cisco
networking team and activate your account.
 PART – 2: Student NETACAD Account and Profile Making

A student needs to follow the following steps for the course enrollment at Cisco Netacad Platform
offered under VU PDC:

An Enrollment confirmation email by “Networking Academy” will be sent to the enrolled student once
the student details are entered on the Cisco Netacad Portal. Upon its receipt, a student needs to follow
the instructions as given below:

Open a browser and type the URL: https://gmail.vu.edu.pk to login into your Official VU Student Email ID
account. Here, provide the aforesaid email ID and click on the button “Next” as shown in the screenshot:

On the next screen, enter “Password” in the textbox and click on the button “Next” as show in the
screenshot given below:
In the “Inbox Folder”, click on email received from “Networking Academy” as shown in the screenshot
given as under:

Now, click on button “Activate Account” as shown in the screenshot given as under:

NOTE:
This will lead to an external link to the Global Cisco Networking Academy webpage where “NEWLY ENROLLED
STUDENTS” on behalf of VU PDC Cisco Networking Academy can create their NETACAD Account.

On the other hand, students having already NETACAD Account on behalf of VU PDC Cisco Networking
Academy, they don’t need to RE-CREATE their NETACAD Account. In that case, they just need to LOGIN
using their NETACAD credentials for verification purposes.
Follow the instructions as per screenshot given as under and click on button “Register”:
Upon successful NETACAD Account creation, the page will lead to “Sign in” page. Here, provide your
Official VU Student Email ID as NETACAD Account USERNAME and click on button “Next” as shown in
the screenshot given below:

On this screen, enter the PASSWORD which is set while creating NETACAD Account creation and click on
button “Sign In” as shown in the screen shot given below:
Upon successful “Sign In”, complete the NETACAD PROFILE making as per fields shown in the below
screenshot and click on button “Create Account”:

Now, this will lead to the NEWLY created NETACAD Account of the student as shown in the
screenshot given as under:
Upon successful creation of NETACAD Account, students will receive a confirmation email with
greetings from Cisco Inc. at their Official VU Student Email ID as shown in the below screen shot:

Click on this email to view greeting message from Cisco Network Academy as shown in the screen shot
given below:
 PART – 3: A Brief Introduction of the Student

8. Name of the Student. Here is “Khushnood”
9. Detail of Course(s) in which student is enrolled

12. Status of the highlighted course. Here is “In Progress”
13. <Course Code> - <Batch / Group Number> - <Course ID in Batch / Group>. Here is “LU-G-4-1”

15. The Name of the institute of the student through which he/she enrolled in the highlighted

NOTE:
• Point 7:
This button will lead to the courses offered by the Global Cisco Networking Academy. It is
strongly recommended that VU Students do not enroll themselves in any course(s) by this way.
By doing so, they will not be a part of the VU Cisco Networking Academy Program.

• Point 14:
This is the most important point through which a student can identify himself/herself
whether he/she is enrolled through VU Cisco Networking Academy Program or through
Global Cisco Networking Academy.
 PART – 4: Completing Activities at Cisco Netacad

This section will guide you step by step on how to complete you first activity of this course successfully.

Step 1: Please launch your course.

Step 2: Please click on the link of your first exam which is “Module 1 Test”
Step 3: Please click on Proceed.

Step 4: Please click on I accept.

Step 5: Please click on Start.

Step 6: Please select the answer and click on Next button.

 PART – 5: Achieving Course Completion

The following activities are mandatory to complete if you want to achieve completion in Cisco Course.

• Part 1 Summary Test: It is mandatory to get at least 70% marks for course completion. You can
only attempt your final exam after this test.
• Part 2 Summary Test: It is mandatory to get at least 70% marks for course completion. You can
only attempt your final exam after this test.
• Satisfaction Survey: Course feedback is mandatory to attempt. You can only attempt your
final exam after the completion of your course feedback.
• Final Test: It is mandatory to get at least 70% marks for course completion in final test.
