1. MS Word is a Word Processor. It’s a software application
developed by Microsoft as a part of its Office Suit. It offers
robust tools for creating, editing, formatting, and printing
documents in a variety of formats, including letters, resumes,
reports, and more.
2. Spelling check identifies and corrects misspelled words.
Grammar check helps identify stylistic errors and often provide
suggestions for improving existing content.
3. Ctrl + E: Applies centre alignment. Ctrl + J: Applies justified
alignment. Ctrl + Shift + J: Spreads the current paragraph across
the entire width between the margins. Ctrl +M: Increases the
indentation of the current paragraph or selected paragraphs to
the next tab stop.
4. Landscape (horizontal) and Portrait (vertical).
5. A feature or technique used in text editors, word processors,
and other software applications to automatically wrap text to
the next line when it reaches the end of a line or a specified
margin.

worksheet. *On the Home tab, in the Font group, do one of the
following: To fill cells with a solid colour, select the arrow next
to Fill Color, and then under Theme Colors or Standard
Colours, select the colour that you want. *To fill cells with a
custom color, select the arrow next to Fill Color, select More
Colors, and then in the Colors dialog box select the color that
you want.*To apply the most recently selected color, select Fill
Color.
9. Mail Merge is a useful tool that allows you to produce multiple
letters, labels, envelopes, name tags, and more using
information stored in a list, database, or spreadsheet. When
performing a Mail Merge, you will need a Word Document
(you can start with an existing one or create a new one) and a
recipient list, which is typically an Excel workbook.
10. Select the cells you need to merge. Adjacent or non-
adjacent it’s up to you. –Right click and choose “Merge Cells”
from the menu. –Or use the “Table Tools” tab in the toolbar. –
The cells will combine into one.
11. To start with, select text in shading. Then click “Shading”
in “Paragraph” group under “Home” tab. Next choose “No
Color”. Then all shading is gone.
12. Click Insert then look for and click Table. Move the cursor
over the grid until you highlight the number of columns and
rows you want. / Select Insert> Table> Insert Table>. Select the
number of columns and rows, AutoFit behaviour, and then
select OK.
