PDFReader User Guide - Old
In 2009 the iPhone version of PDF Reader Pro was selected as a finalist on the
Best App Ever Award in the categories of Most Useful App and Best Productivity Enhancer.
Thge WiFi toggle enables you to connect to your wi-fi network to transfer
documents between the iPad and any computer. Simply type the IP address
(which is found at the top and bottom of the screen and is something like
192.168.1.102:5500) into any web browser to upload or download files
straight to and from your iPad.
To download from the iPad choose the document you would like to down-
load from the listing that appears in your web browser.
To upload to the iPad choose the Browse option and select the file. After lo-
cating and choosing your file press the upload option and the PDF will now
appear in your PDFReader Pro file listing.
From the Settings page you will be able to change multiple settings which will help
to make your experience with PDFReader Pro Edition more enjoyable.
After completing each of the following actions you must hit Done which will pop up at the bottom of your screen.
Create Folder – Create folders to help organize your files (ex. Keep all files from a specific project in one folder)
* Press Actions
* Press “Create Folder”
* Enter name of new folder and press done
* Your new folder will now appear in your list
Copy – For files that you need in more than one location you can copy them into folders
* Press Actions
* Choose the file that you would like to copy
* Press Copy
* Press Done
* Choose Folder where you would like to place the file
* Press Actions
* Press Paste
Move/Cut – For files that you need to move from one location to another
* Press Actions
* Choose the file that you would like to move
* Press Move
* Press Done
* Choose Folder where you would like to place the file
* Press Actions
* Press Paste
Rename
* Press Actions
* Choose Document
* Press Rename
* Enter the new name when prompted
* Press Rename
Select All – Selects all documents and files to expedite the move/copy and paste action
To edit a picture that you have added to your scan highlight it and it
will take you to the next screen with the editing tools. Upon completion
of each edit function choose the Done button to save your changes.
To crop a picture choose the crop button from the bottom of the screen.
This will put 4 sets of black and white dots on the corners of your pic-
ture. To move these and change to content of your picture hold down
the larger of the dots until the small one matches it in size and then
you are free to move it. When you have the dots where you would like
them hit the done box on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen and
your new image will be processed.
If you are not satisfied with how your image has cropped simply tap
the Scan toggle at the very bottom of the screen and you will be take
back to the list of images that were added to your scan without any
changes.
To change the picture from Color to Black and White press the black
and white button.
If you are not satisfied with how your image has been modified simply
tap the Scan toggle at the very bottom of the screen and you will be
take back to the list of images that were added to your scan without
any changes.
Once you are done creating your scan you will need to remove the
documents from the scan listing.
This can be done in one of 2 ways:
1) swiping your finger across the document which will bring up the
iPad classic delete button (and is good if you only need to remove one
or two documents)
2) press the clear button which will remove all documents in the scan
queue.
To add a bookmark choose the bookmark icon with the + sign in the
upper left hand corner when you are on the page that you would like
to bookmark. This will pull up a page prompting you to give your
bookmark a name. When you have entered your desired name press
done on the keyboard and you will be taken back to the previous
screen and your bookmark will be added to the listing.
To view all of the bookmarks you have created for your document
choose the bookmark icon and the bookmark heading.
When you are ready to email a document choose the email icon (envelope
with an @) at the top of the screen and a new email message will be pulled
up using your default email address that you have associated with your
iPad. This email will already have the PDF attached, but you will be free to
edit the subject line and body text before sending.
Highlight, Underline, or Strikeout – Touch the icon and then touch the text you would
like to modify. If you need to change the color or delete it tap the modified section until a
box pops up.
Note – Touch the icon and place the note where you would like it. A resizable box will
appear where you can enter your text. You can resize the note box when placing the box by
touching one of the edges and pull it to the size that suits your needs. The modifications that
you can make to your note are color and size of text, move, edit, or delete. These options
can all be reached by taping the note to bring up the popup.
Stickie Note – Touch the icon and then place the stickie note where you would like it.
You will then be able to add whatever text you would like and when you are done it will
be hidden until opened which can be done by taping the stickie note and choosing the
open option. When you tap the stickie note you will also be given the options for color, de-
lete, and move. If you change the color of the stickie note it will only change the color when
the note is open. It will still appear yellow when closed. To move the stickie note, choose the
move option and reposition your note. Once you have found a new location be sure to tap
the done moving option that has appeared at the top of the screen.

To change the screen view between day and night viewing tap the icon and your screen will
change brightness.
To adjust the severity in the brightness go to the settings screen on the main screen and you will
have this option.
To navigate the pages within your document there are several options.
Another feature is that you can complete PDF forms and save
them on your iPad. To complete a form open it within the pro-
gram and tap on the completable section of the form. The key-
board will appear and allow you to complete the section. When
you exit the program will automatically save all changes.
You can also add files directly from websites on Safari. when
you open a PDF file from a website it will open and then when
you tap the page an option will come up on the upper right hand
corner to open the document in PDF REader Pro. By choosing this
option the document will save in the program and you will have
all annotation and printing capabilities.
When you are ready to print you will choose the Print icon. You
will receive a popup box that will allow you to choose what
printer you would like to print from, whether you would like to
preint the entire document, and how many copies you would like.
If you need to atler the print range you will be taken to another
page within the popup that will allow you to choose the range to
print.
