EXTERIOR AREA MEASUREMENT

Lot
Lot typically refers to a specific piece of land property surrounded by the property boundaries. It is the
portion of land on which a building, structure, or residence is located.

Lawn
Lawns are the open, green spaces on a property.

Lot refers to the overall land , while a "lawn" is a specific portion of that lot where grass or vegetation is
maintained for landscaping and recreational purposes.

Initial grass cut and Grass re-cut:
General Instructions:

• Cut grass in up to 1-acre perimeter lawn.


• Edging and weed whacking on driveways, walkways and sideways.
• Remove all generated clippings.

• Spray weed killer on rock beds, driveways, walkways and sideways. (Exceptional for few clients.)

• Sufficient photos for bids (with TAPE MEASUREMENTS)


Action photo requirements:
BEFORE PHOTOS:
• Photos of Street sign and address.
• Front view of the property.
• Front stickers and Lockbox.

• Photos of whole lawn areas. (Four sides of the property lawn)


• Tape measurement of grass height.

DURING PHOTOS:
• Specify the types of equipment to be used (e.g., lawn mower, weed whackers) .
• Clippings are being removed. (Raking, filling up in bag and kept in the truck, blowing)

AFTER PHOTOS:
• Tape measurement photos of after grasscut.
• Photos of whole lawn.
• Photos of existing shrubs, trees, vines, overgrowth, vegetation and outbuildings for bids.
• Tape measurement for bids for lawn maintenance.

Reasons for not performing grass cut:

• Saturated Lawn

• Debris obstruction

• Uneven Lawn

• Maintained by HOA
Shrubs
• We bid for trimming shrubs to back away from the property exterior
(not to remove).
• Unit to use: Linear Feet, Each (exceptional).

• Generated clippings should be removed.

• Tape measurement is mandatory for the bids and to ensure the


invoice.
Vines:
Types of Vines:
• Poisonous ivy
• Non-poisonous ivy.

Required bids:

• We remove vines (not trim).


• Vine removal can cause underlying damage. We need to
provide a disclaimer for that.

• For poisonous ivy, we should ask for the price to crew


and the bid price will be higher than usual.

• Unit to use: Linear Feet, square feet (exceptional).

• Generated clippings should be removed.


• Tape measurement is mandatory for the bids and to
ensure the invoice.
Locations
• Around the main building.

• Fence lines

• On the ground.

We need to bid for each thing in separate line item.


Trees:

• If the trees are touching the property, we bid to trim.


• If the trees are not touching, we can bid too as a non-
conveyance issue.
• For the large trees and if the property has multiple storeys,
we can bid for hiring an extra ladder/boom lift/scissor lift for
trimming

• Unit to use: Each, Linear foot (exceptional).


• Generated clippings should be removed.
• If the tree is growing adjacent to the property foundation, we need to bid for
removing.
• If the tree is uprooted, we need to remove it.

• For bidding to remove a tree we need few things to consider -

• Bid for extra equipment, labor or trailer if needed.


• Stump grinding.
• Fill generated depression hole.
• Grading.
Sapling:
Required Bids:

• Remove saplings.

• Unit to use: Each, Sqft (in some cases).

• Generated clippings should be removed.

Excessive amount of saplings will be counted as overgrowth.


Overgrowth:
Required Bids:

• We remove overgrowth (not trimming).


• If the property is highly overgrown then
need to ask for the price.
• There might have hidden debris in
overgrown areas.
• Unit to use: Square feet.

• Generated clippings should be removed.


• Tape measurement is required for the bids
and to ensure the invoice.
Snow removal

Snow removal is the job of removing snow after a snowfall to make travel easier and safer.

This is done by both individual households and by governments and institutions.


General Instructions:

1. Snow removal orders are ordered by the broker, or at times National Clients will
automatically open snow removal orders at the beginning of the snow season.

2. Vendors need to remove snow when there are 3 or more inches of accumulation. This
order will have a due date and it will be the Vendors’ responsibility to plow the driveway
when accumulation is 3 inches or more.

3. Snow removal is ordered on an as-needed basis and must be completed within 48


hours. Snow removal is to be completed per the city ordinances – driveway, walkways,
sidewalks and entryways are to be cleared.

4. Please read work orders to follow specific guidelines that the client may have.

• Driveway : Square Feet.

• Entryway : Square Feet.

• Staircases: Linear Feet.

• Walkway : Linear Feet.

• Sideway : Linear Feet.
