    1 Remove front seat head restraint Electrically adjustable head restraint AR91.16-P-0040GZ
    Mechanically adjustable head restraint AR91.16-P-0040GZA
    2 Move backrest into upright position
    3 Move front seat forward
    4 Unclip cover (1) from belt end fitting Long wedge *115589035900
    5 Remove bolt (2) *BA91.40-P-1001-01H
    6 Move front seat to rear
    7 Remove screws (5) Installation: Replace bolts (5), align seat
    rails.

    8 Remove bolts (3) Installation: Replace bolts (3), align seat
    rails.

    9 Remove seat rail covers (4)
    10 Lift up front of front seat, carefully tilt toward
    rear
    11 Disconnect electrical connector (6, 7) from left The number of connectors varies
    front seat contacting strip (X55/3) on vehicle according to vehicle equipment.

    12 Disconnect electrical connectors (8, 9) from Only vehicles with memory package (driver
    driver-side front seat adjustment control unit seat, steering column, mirror), code 275 and
    with memory (N32/1) electrically adjustable passenger seat with
    memory, code 242.

    13 Disconnect compressed air connection for Only vehicles with left multicontour seat, code
    multicontour seat from main coupling below 404 and right multicontour seat, code 405.

    14 Lift out front seat Use helper
    15 Install in the reverse order
    16 Calibrate left front WSS sensor (weight Only front seat on passenger side in vehicles
    sensing system), right front WSS sensor with USA version, code 494.
    (weight sensing system), left rear WSS
    sensor (weight sensing system) and right rear
    WSS sensor (weight sensing system) with
    STAR diagnosis system
